ALIEN: COVENANT (First Reactions from World Premiere)

Those set photos aren't of humans. Those are engineers being attacked by what looks like some sort of proto alien.

Alien virus breaks out on Engineer homeworld, world war z type destruction with those being attacked quickly mutating and attacking others.

The smaller figures might be mistaken for humans but I'd put money on them being female engineers. If you zoom in on the pictures you can clearly see male engineers like in the first Prometheus.

Also destroyed huge statues? That screams engineers all day long. So we'll probably see a flashback of the destruction of the engineer race in this movie and the rest of the backlore.
 
I hope they stop putting dumb characters like on prometheus it ruins the feel of the movie
 
So Fassbender isn't even returning?

Fassbender is confirmed to return. It's Noomi Rapace that's not coming back for Covenant.

Here is the synopsis for Alien: Covenant:

"Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the 'synthetic' David (Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

Is it just me or does that sound bad that Naomi isn't coming back or atleast recast?

It is said that Covenant takes places 10 years after the events of Prometheus. I figured Shaw is still alive somewhere and they'll reveal what happens to her in the next sequel(s) after Covenant.

Hmmm interesting. I really hope he gives a clearer movie than Prometheus. I didn't plan on coming out of that movie with more Questions than answers but that's what happened

The last one hardly succeed because of it. Though besides David I guess her character was one of the few bright spots.

Honestly I'd rather a bad Alien movie to a good Prometheus movie. Lucky for us it's looking like we'll get two!
 
Set photos look interesting. Hoping this movie will answer the questions that the Alien movies raised. And Prometheus for that matter.

Don't want to be left with more questions again, after seeing this movie.
 
Can't wait for the first trailer to see what the movie is about and the setting. Probably not going to get a trailer for about a year but whatever .
 
How would Noomi Rapaces character even survive on that barren desolate planet for 10 years? I thought it was pretty obvious at the end of Prometheus that she was doomed to die. There's an alien running rampant and she has no supplies, no support and no hope.

Will be interesting to see David (Michael Fassbender) coming back. An android is more believable to be able to survive in that harsh environment for 10 years.

I liked those screenshots of the Engineers in a struggle for survival, but why do they all look like statues? Is it because they are fossilized? Hoping that Ridley shoots that scene well because that looks pretty damn epic.

I have some mild interest in this but that Prometheus trailer was cut so well that eventually I was let down huge by the actual movie. So I am going to cautiously be optimistic but set my expectations really low.

Noomi is my favorite actress in terms of acting skills. And she's hot.
 
How stupid are these humans, always surprised Xenomorphs are attacking the ships.

Never mind, they showed how moronic these cans were in Prometheus.

Wasn't there some line about having several years' worth of supplies in the last act?

It's not yet sure if the "remote planet" that Covenant is set in is the same one from Promethus (LV-223).

Another possible scenario is Shaw and David went off to the Engineer homeworld. A few years passed and David returns back to LV-223.

The Prometheus trailer was one of the best I've seen. Film turned out to be my biggest disappointment of the year (tied with The Dark Knight Rises).
