Media Alexandre Pantoja dislocated elbow GIFS

Great call by ref, he instantly understood what's up and prevented any further damage to the defedning champion, give him a bonus

That was the freakiest of freak injuries.
Can't recall another that would be a close 2nd in recent memory.
pyfer broke his arm in a kinda similar situation on the contender series
Well not too similar since pyfer was slammed down. How long was pyfer out, might be a blueprint for pantoja. Personally I think pantoja is too old to come back from that, I think hes done.

Where are the fans and fighters sh**ing on Pantoja for not keeping the fight going? He still had one arm and both legs, a true warrior wouldve kept going...

Who cares if you're blind or can only fight with 1 arm, you're supposed to be a warrior and stay in the cage till you get KO'ed in there, am i right?
your sarcasm make no sense since it's the ref who stopped the fight and not Pantoja himself, Pantoja did in fact act like a warrior

I feel bad for both. Van gets a lot of hate for celebrating like he did, and the majority will hold him as a paper champ until he rematches with Pantoja. Not the way you want to win a championship belt.

Pantoja hopefully recovers soon and fully, and we get to see a real fight. He was on such a great streak and has many FLW records and to get a loss on your record and lose your belt like that must suck.
ppl be have short memories fren

once he starts beating contedners, they will forget

Why some people bashing Pantoja? What am i missing here?
In my case it was just a joke to show how retarded it is to fault someone for stopping after an injury since people and Dana sh**ed on Tom for not keep fighting while being blind. Same applies here...

Pantoja was waving it off and wanted it to be stopped. Van was about to attack him and Pantoja was told him to stop waving with his arm. So no, by mma fans standards he didnt act like a warrior and shouldve kept fighting with 1 arm and get KO'ed to go out like a true warrior.Thats what we all expect from fighters. What a coward...

I actually dislocated my shoulder in a similar manner flying off of a skateboard while I was drunk and high at 17. Posted my arm in the same manner with my bodyweight falling on top of it, twisting it out of its socket. I had to pop it back in myself, definitely a traumatic injury.
Was it ever the same?

Dana is still saying it's his shoulder that was dislocated (according to UFC doctors).

Idk what the heck happened but his elbow definitely seemed effed up.

Also, I posted in a different thread, but 4 or 5 weeks ago the QB for Washington Commanders had a similar dislocated elbow injury and he is back this week.

Damn, falling over is way more dangerous than most armbars!

Feel heartbroken for Pantoja. What a garbage way to lose a title over a freak accident. Wish him a speedy recovery. I thought Van celebrated too much like he actually beat the Champ in a convincing fashion. Very unfortunate since that had Fight of the Night written all over it.

It depends what happened. Shoulder is complex, cartilage, soft tissue/ligaments it is hard to be as it was. But if it is arm bone, it can heal and be pretty much the same.

Similar with knees/legs, sometimes it is better to brake the bone than to damage ligaments/cartilage (since it cannot regrow fully and requires complex reconstruction)
