Izzy was KO'd by Pereira in their first meet (in MMA), and was losing to Pereira in their second meet, before he got a couple of lucky shots.

It's actually Israel who has no other "more viable, or lucrative" options than Alex Pereira.

The two are intertwined, and even Izzy apologists have to admit this.

Whittaker relies heavily on striking, which is nowhere near in the league of Pereira.

No, Izzy (and, ahem, Dana) "sweetened the pot" for Pereira to leave Izzy alone, and "freshen-up" the LHW Division.

Don't forget, in Glory Kickboxing, Alex won the LHW Title and still defended his MW Title. He has never missed weight before. His unique frame allows him to simply decide how much weight he wants to cut.

All this said, I hope Pereira competing in both divisions.

every indication is that he won't be.

but until he competes at 205, he's a MW. that's why he's still ranked there.

then again, these rankings are often not based on much. so maybe he'll stay ranked in both divisions for awhile even after his fight at 205...who knows.
