Hari managed to turn what looked like it would be a great kickboxing career into a patchy one.
I agree, Badr could’ve accomplished way more if he acted different in some fights.. he still has a very accomplished career though:

But could’ve been even more accomplished, for example if he didn’t throw a fucking spinning wheelkick when Rico Verhoeven literally was out on his feet and just sticked to boxing him up, Badr would’ve been GLORY-champion a minute later, instead of injuring his ankle with that kick…

If he didn’t footstomp Remy Bonjasky’s face in the K1 Grand Prix final he probably would’ve won the most prestigious prize in kickboxing history:
K1 WGP winner

Remy told me he still blames Badr for doing him dirty and handing him the K1 WGP by disqualification:eek:

real recognize real

both great kickboxers, Perreira would win if they fought now, but back in the day during Hari's prime it would be a tough fought out battle.

Nice to see he is a fan of Alex

Well, GLORY actually planned to return to USA, right before the COVID-pandemic.
I don’t know if they’re still looking to do a US-based event in the future, but I hope they do (I don’t see why they won’t try that).
Would be cool!

Do you think there’s fan appeal for GLORY Kickboxing in America? In a way where they can sell out venue’s like MSG, MGM, T-Mobile Arena, etc.?
When there’s a very stacked card in the Netherlands featuring names like Badr Hari, Rico Verhoeven, Jamal Ben Saddik, Alistair Overeem, Gökhan Saki, Antonio Plazibat, Tyjani Beztati, Hamicha, Petch, etc. they sell out football-stadium like Gelredome, with a 30k+ capacity

i think what they're missing to get big in America is an American star. kickboxing has always been filled with Euros. hell, Australia has more representation in kickboxing than America does especially now a days.

Hari showed 2 round cardio in an org that barely checks for Peds.
He is 38 now and injured in every second fight.
Nowadays he stands no chance against Alex in kickboxing. In MMA he gets drowned bad.

they don't even need to change that. K-1 boasted something like a 90% KO rate and it still didn't take off. people complain about UFC and grappling but they never supported K-1.
I can’t speak for others, but at the turn of the century, K-1 was bigger than Pride in my part of the woods. Sadly, it didn’t last. But that period, at least to me, was the most exciting in combat sports. I think I rewatched Lebanner against Hunt like a dozen times.
