I have seen some hot takes recently mentioning Pereira´s size which is ridiculous because imho Pereira himself doesn´t see a way to victory against Chimaev.

He said I am 38 and at the end of my career and want one fight against a guy my age and retire basically. He doesn´t want to fight Chimaev at this point in his career and plus Pereira realizes that Chimaev is a bad match-up like 99% of all MMA fans know this as well.

Pereira is a great fighter and one of the best but he would have no earthly chance against Khamzat Chimaev Stylistically.

People talking about size are deluded.. I remember listenting to an interview recently done by Chris Curtis who has trained with Chimaev and he said something interesting he said he is much stronger then he looks as if he was made in a russian lab or something because when you feel his arm strength he is much stronger then his size or appearance to ratio strength.

Alex Pereira will not be able to stop one single takedown from a marauding Khamzat Chimaev..

What makes him so confident imo is his high level technical ability I think technically when it comes to combining all the aspects of MMA he is ahead of the entire roster especially in the grappling department hence he can fancy his chances against anyone and everyone.

Against Pereira imho he would be like 7 to 1 favourite or something.

Khamzat Chimaev is the best fighter in the world right now and he knows it and he will back himself against anyone even at Heavyweight (Indeed a rare and special fighter who is a generational talent)

People were saying DPP was too strong for Khamzat and look what happened.

Touch Jon with the left hook and ride off into the sunset.

Holy shit that'd be the day.
Legacy Fight...

Plus... I could see Dana and DC making it a point every time they show or mention Pereira that he's refered to as the guy that knocked out Jon Jones...

Well atleast they can be 1-1 in theoretical call outs and turned down now. <bullseye>

Hopefully this big win will motivate Khamzat to defend in real life vs Imavov.

Yep he will always be unbeatable since he isnt ever fighting anyone. Let the guy get 3 defenses and then let's have a conversation about greatness. He hasn't even defended yet. This is a lot like the ank stuff except ank had a resume
