Alex lost the Issy fight. Izzy did not win it.

Alex’s boxing defence seems a little under developed tbh. Izzy caught him in their first UFC fight with the exact same fight ending combination and Alex was saved by the bell.

Alex is great at checking and defending against kicks but like I said his boxing defence seems not as developed.

Adesanya was up 3 rounds to 1 in their first UFC fight before the KO. You might as well say Pereira "didn't win" that one.

He most certainly did win and it's on Alex for getting over aggressive... On the other hand, for Izzy that's not really a gameplan you can use more than once... Getting beat up and then countering when your opponent thinks you are done isn't the smartest move and likely wouldn't work if they were to fight again.
Thats why Izzy is ducking the rematch like the plague. I doubt his actual gameplan was letting his legs get destroyed tho, it was probably his plan B if he was caught in the same situation as the first fight. He came out being the aggresor and pressuring Poatan but it really wasnt working out.

Alex was looking great in the last Izzy fight tbh. Izzy looked terrified until Alex made a crucial rookie mistake and began fighting as if he was sparring with a punching bag and paid the price. I’ll take Alex >> Izzy easily if they fight again

Some people would argue the same on the opposite side for the first mma fight.

It's a fight, it happens.

This sounds like a Chael Sonnen video.

Izzy baited him in and served him justice with the piercing cross. Even clapped at his son for good measure. So how did you feel inside watching this transpire?
Baited him by getting his leg kicked to bits?

Alex was on the way to knocking out Izzy. Izzy was getting walked down he was stumbling over those leg kicks in a other round or 2 Alex would have knocked him out again.

Alex got sloppy he got hit with the same sloppy untechnical shot he got caught with last time.

Alex threw the fight he was on way to a dominant win.
I don’t like adesanya either, not for the romero robbery or the bad decision in the Whittaker rematch, but the guy knocked pereira out cold, let him enjoy it

I see what you mean, but after seeing the gif of alex being in the same position of his past win and izzy overcoming? That's the epitome of one learning from mistakes.

It sucks tho. Alex was clearly knocked out and once it happens.....

Alex fanboys trying to give Conor fanboys a run for their money <45>

This logic is tomato tomato.

You can argue either perspective, but they're tantamount to the same thing because the result is the same. If someone loses a fight making a mistake, and the other fighter takes advantage of it, well, that's fighting. Fighters take advantages of mistakes all the time that the untrained eye isn't really privy to, even as small as centimeters difference of foot placement. This one is just more glaringly obvious to the causal eyes.

Izzy is a counter puncher. He won by what he's best at. Had it been something unrepresentative of his usual strengths maybe.

Nah.

If this make s sense then, the same logic applies to their previous matchup.

Imagine thinking this logic makes sense.

Full credit to Izzy, he won fair and square.

But TS is kinda right, was a pretty amateur mistake from Poatan.

Izzy did the classic shell up counter cross.. one of the oldest tricks in the striking book, and Poatan fell right into the trap.

Alex fell for Izzy playing possum. Crafty and a legitimate win for Izzy, but the type of thing that only works once. Based on how things were going before the knockout, I understand why Izzy and Dana promptly shut down talk of a trilogy fight.

3-1 Pereira
