Dana said at the press conference that after the fight he went to his room to congratulate him, and they gave him the cold shoulder like he was bothering them. Not sure what he is really salty about but he's coming off as a douche to his boss. Remember Corey Anderson? Either do I.

I think it could work well if the decision was close or something unfair happened.

They used to do it more, until someone complained when DC was asked to take an interview when he was still out of it.
I think that's something that the networks would look out for is how alive that fighter is!

It does happen occasionally if the fight is close already, also it often happens where neither are interviewed.
 
Didn't people get mad when Rogan interviewed Reem after Stipe KOd him?

Said he felt Stipe tap in a guillotine or something <30>

Doing what he thinks is right is being upset that losing fighters don’t get interviewed? That is one of the dumbest reasons ever.
 
I feel like a lot of people are missing his point. You're all so fixated on the interview thing, but I don't think that's his point. He may actually have the stance that both the winners and losers should be interviewed post-fight, which isn't something I agree with, but there's a lot more to it than that.

I also think he's a real ass dude and a lot of people are intimidated by people like that. But think about it, most guys in his position would be glowing, all happy and shit, they just got a highlight reel KO, they'd be excited to have done that, especially given their underdog status. But this dude was completely aware of the scenario, and he's like fuck that shit, Dana comes to his room to congratulate him... he ain't about it. He knows what's up.

He wasn't supposed to beat Joaquin Buckley. He was supposed to be another highlight-reel KO on Buckley's record, a big win for the UFC's new boy Buckley on network television in front of a large audience. He was supposed to lose, be on Buckley's highlight reel, and probably get cut.

The guy was coming off three straight losses. He knows what it felt like to have nobody give a shit about him. Now he gets this great KO and wins as an underdog and everybody wants to talk to him and talk about him. He just wants the attention/respect level to be the same for winners and losers, and I honestly think that's dope. It's kind of a shot at shitty MMA fans who shit on fighters when they lose or fake fans who only like guys when they win/until they lose. The "you're only as good as your last fight" mentality which is unfortunately just the way the sport is, you truly are only as good as your last fight. I think all of that is bullshit and I hate it, so good for Di Chirico for taking a stand against it all.

And I saw someone say he's dumb for not using the opportunity to get some fans by actually doing the interview... 1. I'm willing to bet nobody would have made a thread about his post-fight interview if he actually did it. 2. The number of fans he would have gained if he had actually done the interview is about the same number of fans Jon Jones gained when he went to check on Lyoto Machida after their fight.

The UFC stopped doing it after the Overeem "felt the tap" interview

Except in exceptional cases, like a retirement fight, or a controversial decision, what's the value of interviewing losers?

It’s just being an insecure twat with a complex. That’s what y’all would say if he was 5’5. Guy is giving Italians a bad name for no reason. Needs help seems weird
 
He earned my respect after this. He did an outstanding job with his backs against the wall
