Alessio Di Chirico turns down post-fight interview

Got a huge win on ABC with a vicious knockout over the guy who broke records for views on his video, who was also talking shit, and decides this is how he wants to act? Lol definitely not shooting himself in the foot at all!

I tried to care but I couldn’t. I’m happy he found his mission, but I really don’t care.

The guy finally has the chance to put himself out there and get some fans, and he chooses to die on this hill. What a dummy.

He doesn’t give a fuck, clearly.

Guy’s a dumbass.

internet is filled with ppl saying dumb things so I’ll keep reiterating this point as one of the few level headed ppl on here.

Confirmation bias is real. If a short guy acted like this everyone would conclude the only possible reason he did it is because of insecurity due to his height. When you start being cognizant of your biases you realize unnecessary insecurity for no good reason isn’t exclusive to manlets.

This is such a weird insecure power tripping fake nice guy amalgamated act. As others said guy gets a win and instead of giving himself some opportunity to earn more and grow his career he just acts like a mentally retarded 10 yr old.

I get what he is trying to do and can respect it. But I think he made his point during the in cage post fight interview. He could have stayed there and talked longer to make his point. But agian, if that's the stance he wants to take I can respect him for it. Some people will say he's too unknown or nobody cares about him but in his mind, someone has to take the first step and he's wiling to potentially sacrifice for what he feels is right.

Crazy how being humble and a sportsmen is equated to being a "weirdo".

Need more fighters like him rather than loud mouth who assault the elderly then get pushed on fans every damn commercial break.
I'm all for humility and sportsmanship. It just seems like such an odd thing to take a stand on, I've literally never once heard of anyone even considering this to be an issue. In fact I would wager that the vast majority of fighters who just lost a fight on the biggest stage have zero interest in being interviewed at that time, as they're likely super disappointed and/or concussed. I can't imagine anything worse than being KO'd, waking up, and then immediately having a microphone in my face with questions being thrown at me. It's just a strange thing to advocate for.

He is standing up for all the fighters who get treated like shit by the UFC.

By suggesting that the loser should have a say? The implications of this could be span to suggest he is advocating for fighters to be treated like shit lol.

Dana said him and his team were mad backstage for some reason when he went over to congratulate him. To each their own, unfortunately you need to do publicity to get recognized and grow your fame and your pockets.

He is suggesting that both the winner and loser should both be treated with respect instead of people calling them cans that should be cut.

If the loser of a fight doesn't want an interview they don't have too but if they do want an interview then they should the right to be heard.

Nah it was only mentioned about "interviews" specifically, nothing about being called cans or being cut. Losing fighters get a ton of credit, look at dudes like Diego Sanchez and Darren Elkins.

There are times when even the winner doesn't get an interview, it's a completely illogical thing to complain about.

As silly as this sounds it must mean alot to Alessio since he is willing to his UFC career on the line to speak up about this

Next fight he loses he will get cut

Smart guy. Probably would have been a very forgettable interview if he didn't do this.

I'm by no means against fighters expressing feelings of discontent in interviews, I resonate with the idea of "two people make a fight" for sure, but protesting about them not getting interviews seems a wasted cause compared to the many actual problems within the organisation and how the fighters are treated(it won't do him or anyone any favours, bar the the zaniness of it perhaps attracting fans like me lol).

I hope not I like him, he's been unlucky in a lot of fights and has a lot of talent, some really good fundamentals, not to mention he's one of very few Italian fighters ever which could be a sweet niche market for them to want to keep.

:)

Wait til he gets paid.

"I sorry, we both fight. There is winner and loser. He probably feeling bad more. He deserve da money. When I lose, then you pay me for my tears."

If the fighter is able to stand while the decision is being made, then he could have the opportunity to say something.
I think it could work well if the decision was close or something unfair happened.

They used to do it more, until someone complained when DC was asked to take an interview when he was still out of it.
I think that's something that the networks would look out for is how alive that fighter is!
