Awesome skills. I think he would be a competitive matchup against any of the current top UFC guys.

NO. Hunt is a better MMA fighter right now. But he was a much, much, MUCH better STRIKER back then. And his fight with Aleks would have been on the feet... so that hunt would have wrecked him pretty badly.

and prime hunt style was based on explosive bursts in his attacks. He was generally a slow fighter, but very explosive, especially for his size.

Nah. He's a better striker now as well.

his name is spelled Александр. I doubt he goes by Alex under any spelling. I think Sasha/Sanya is the intimate name most soviets use for Аlexander.

Aleksander is such a soft speaking gentle, humble and religious being. If there were more people like him, the world would be a better place. My favorite Aleksander moment was when he KTFO Bob Sapp.

I will cherish the memories of this man for the rest of my life.
