Aldo vs Holloway better striker

I wish i could do that for you.

LMAO, what a charlatan.

If you're too cowardly to back up your ridiculous claims (e.g. Aldo outstruck Max in the 2nd fight despite being outlanded, countered repeatedly, and knocked down), why even post on a board like this? Especially when you're being insulting and claiming other people don't have your superior perception.

It’s a TUF question to answer, because Aldo was pretty diminished when they fought. I think it’s safe to conclude that at best Holloway was a style nightmare for him.

But I tend to lean toward Holloway being the better striker prime for prime too. Obviously he isn’t the 8 point striker than Aldo was and far less physically dynamic, but I think we’ve seen Holloway adapt to really good strikers in a way that we never saw Aldo do. The perfect example is against Volk. Volk shit both Holloway and Aldo down the first time they fought him, but Holloway adapted very well the second time and arguably won the fight. Certainly won the “fight.”

He also took hard shot from Aldo and overwhelmed him with adjustments. Those Pettis and Yair wins are nice feathers in his cap too. This is made possible not just on talent, but having really deep craft.

I’m not sure why people always talk about max power, but Luke Thomas as well as some mma coaches I have heard interviewed who talk about max say he isn’t throwing punches at full power and rarely ever does. He throws punches to land and sets up his punches by throwing punches if that makes sense. He boxes. Which is the way most lighter boxers box. His strategy isn’t to bomb guys it’s to hit them as many times as he can and literally beat them up. Look at all his opponents when their done fighting. They look like they got the shit beat out of them and that’s exactly what happens.
Yes, and I think the reason he employs that strategy is because he doesn't have consistent 1 hit KO power.

His strategy of boxing people and putting on an overwhelming pace is great for someone like him, and it works incredibly well as we can all see. But you don't have to be butthurt that Holloway doesn't have crazy KO power.

He's similar to the Diaz brothers. They can hit hard at times, but they don't have consistent KO power that gets them the win in the majority of their fights. Although Nick does hit harder than Nate.
