You didn't see him eat jab after jab from a smaller fighter all night? He took a lot of damage too despite being the more powerful guy. I am not bashing him but you obviously see that he slowed down quite a bit. He put in his work already. I like him as a fighter and I am not interested to see him take beatings.

Well said. It ended up being a lopsided decision, but if Aldo had failed to score a handful of offense, then we’d be talking about a lopsided win or even stoppage for Font.

I do favor TJ though. That’s even taking into account the unknown of how his body will when he comes back. He’s somewhat like Font in that he relies on slamming offense to shut an opponent down, but he’s quicker, hits harder, and has more types of offense at his disposal eleven if he’s less refined with his hands. Better chin too IMO. And like Font, TJ can go hard for 25 minutes.

He has taken more damage in the past 3-4 years than his whole career. He can still win fights but it's not going to be easy without much damage. His cardio isn't getting better and he can't see punches as often anymore even when he is fresh. He really has nothing to prove. He is one of the best to do it at 145. These fight camps for an older fighter is also reducing his quality of life for the future.

The difference will be in Tj's ability to change levels for both TD's and for body shots. Jose's defense is very dependent on that head movement. When the head moves, the body doesn't. TJ has great hands, power, speed and combinations.

Now... Maybe sandhaggen ruined him w that submission but that's left to be determined.

A healthy TJ is the best BW of all time. I don't see how Aldo beats him, especially in a 5 round fight. Why is everybody in here saying TJ has a bad chin? His only T(KO) loss at BW was to Dodson and even then he never went out completely.
