Anyone get the feeling UFC is trying to get Aldo to do McGregors dirty work.

Most non biased fans would agree that style wise Edgar has an easier shot at a title if he faced McGregor than Aldo.

Aldo imo will always be a bad match up for Edgar, he edges Edgar in every department. McGregor on the other hand if he doesn't knock Edgar out will be pounded out on the ground quit easly.

Ufc is banking that Aldo beats Edgar again and then regardless win or lose conor will face Aldo by year end

Yet again he's avoiding Edgar to fight the first person to beat him in the UFC. Okaaaay.

Yeah I see Aldo being faster than Edgar still and out pointing him to a decision.

Some threads announcing this have been deleted, has this been released somewhere?

Losing to the bigger Diaz who already whooped him once in the ufc opinion won't damage his rep as much as losing to the smaller edgar.

Get it?

Aldo clearly won the other fight but I'll bet on Edgar post USADA.

You keyboard warriors will never understand that no fighter fighting at that level is afraid of fighting anyone.

Not an easy fight, if aldo gasses by the third frankie could steal the spotlight

His rep would be ruined if he lost to Edgar? Are you serious?

This "interim" title fight is retarded. The 145 Champion is fighting on the same damn card; there's no reason why he can't defend.

UFC has gone full retard.

I'll watch and enjoy Edgar-Aldo, because it will be a great fight, but the logic behind it is stoooopid.

What is the point of Conor-Nate again at 170?

A monkey could do better matchmaking than Joe, Dana and the UFC.

Not afraid of the pain they could inflict, but they'll definitely be afraid of the possibility of losing to them.

people are acting like IF conor was to face aldo again that it'd be a walk in the park. that's definitely not the case.

McGregor would KO Frankie in the first round. McGregor is too big and hits too hard for that division - his opponents are effectively what McGregor was like against Diaz, useless.

Even if Frankie takes it to the ground, McGregor's long frame will just wriggle out of it, like he did with Chad.

I still see Aldo as the biggest threat to his belt. We never saw a fight that night, and Aldo still landed a good punch on him. Who knows what would happen if the fight went on.

He already took fights against Mendes, Aldo, RDA and Diaz. Many believed they were all stylistic nightmares for Conor.

You're grasping at straws.

It's not about fighters being scared though. This is about the UFC'S ulterior motive to keep frankie away from Conor by any means neccesary

so what you're telling me is that once a fighter becomes a contender he instinctively loses all fear of fighting monsters like...anthony "rumble" johnson?

also edgar would literally make mcgregor look like a white belt on the floor if they ever fought, you multiply that by the countless "midget" comments and it would be pretty easy to see why mcgregor is terrified of edgar. the FW title is the only claim to fame mcgregor still has, once he loses that to a "midget" his credibility will be completely gone

I do not think that at all but i bet the ufc thinks McGregor still has a better shot against Aldo than mcgregor

At this point, I believe it's Conor calling the shots. He was the one who wanted RDA and he was the one who wanted the Diaz rematch.

The UFC would've been happy to set up Edgar or Aldo 2 if Conor wanted. Let's face it, even if he loses, the rematch and rubber matches will still bring in the viewers.

Anybody who beats Conor at this point becomes a star and the UFC knows it. Diaz and the Stockton Slap became an overniggt sensation.
