Robert E. Lee Day is recognized in Alabama, but it's celebrated on a state level in certain years. Traditionally, Robert E. Lee Day was observed on the third Monday in January, the same day as Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but in 2019, Alabama moved the holiday to the second Saturday in October.
Alabama:
Robert E. Lee Day was first designated as a state holiday in 1889.
Mississippi:
Robert E. Lee Day was first established as a state holiday in 1884, several years before it was officially observed in Alabama.
Still should be cancelled though, there is no reason for the day. I think statues should stay up though as a symbol of went USA went through.
