Crime Ahmaud Arbery shooting v3

Your attempt to justify his aggressive initiation of battery on an armed man as self-defense is illogical. The choice to attack was not his only option.

You know what else wasn't the only option? Dudes chasing him through the neighborhood with guns at the ready for trespassing.

I've probably said it ten times, maybe more, but I'll say it again:

If they had called the police and stayed the fuck home, none of this would have happened.

That is the right option in this case. It's the only real option.

Examining the actions of a man who is being aggressively chased by wannabe vigilantes instead of the actions of said vigilantes is borderline drooling retard shit. The McMichael's had the option to stay home and let the police check it out. Instead, they grabbed guns, chased a man through the neighborhood, cut him off, and killed him.

"Bu... bu... bu... the negro could have run into the woods or complied or blah blah blah"

Come on, dude. The entire situation exists because two pieces of shit thought the proper response to someone walking into an unfinished, unoccupied construction zone was to grab guns and aggressively pursue the man guilty of nothing more than trespassing.

Can't you see how fucking retarded that is?

This is an embarrassment of a smear attempt. Ahmaud was clearly agitated that he was being profiled. He had no weapons, no drugs, and refused a search. He was agitated but ultimately complied with police up until they wanted to search his car for no reason.

It's not a smear attempt at all. Pig tried to taze him with when his arms were up and he was stereotyped from the get go. The war on drugs is a fucking sham excuse to oppress people. "People do drugs around here, Y U NO LET ME SEARCH CAR"

The cops don't look good, and he is within his rights to deny them a search of his car without a warrant, but his maneuver to physically block access to his car also suggests an underlying, defensive, psychological panic.

It suggests to me there was something in the car he didn't want them to find. Of course, my first assumption would be marijuana. I don't think it's legal in Georgia. This doesn't entail that he was trafficking. I'm from California, so if a guy is out in the park smoking a joint and rapping, I don't see anything wrong with that.

If I'm asked to exit my vehicle and they go for the door handle without a warrant, I'm likely to block them too.

Whether or not I had drugs, I would deny them access. This particular police department is apparently known for misconduct and corruption. I would suspect that if anyone was aware of that, it would be the majority black population. So yeah, his defense nature doesn't necessarily tie to any wrongdoing. He knew his rights. He could have been more calm, but I can't possibly step into the shoes of a black man in the deep south dealing with police.

I'm imagining the video being coopted by racist bootlickers to show that Arbery was a "thug" or some nonsense.

Not necessarily trying to shit on the actual source.

I've acknowledged that based on what we know the citizen's arrest appears to be unlawful. I've pointed out this doesn't justify Arbery's potentially deadly attack on Travis. This was my initial reaction to what I saw in the video without any other context, but it remains, and per Georgia law, it doesn't appear he has a lawful claim to self-defense, but I expect that to become the focal point of the trial in a debate between the lawyers who know the history of law and precedent in Georgia.

His attitude was shitty but he never resisted arrest and they handled that terribly. He wasn't arrested for anything either.

Gee this conveniently timed release should make things better.

Kind of funny that they tried to taser him when he was just standing there with his arms open.

And the one officer was like to the other with a tone in his voice of basically saying "doh, sorry, I kinda forgot to tell you I already checked him for weapons." As evidenced by what happened, it would have been a completely unnecessary tasering.

Bloody keystone cops.

So let me get this straight... In your attempt to be anti-racist, you post a prison photo of black men, whom you imply are eagerly awaiting the chance to beat and rape two white men...? You lefties are something special...
Am I supposed to pretend that there aren't black people in prison? And on top of that, they probably don't take too kindly to 2 murderers killing a young black man...

Also, where was I 'attempting to be anti racist?'

It's anti-racist to point out that 2 morons killed a guy?

Maybe I'll have to research it, but I'd imagine that Arbery had a claim to self-defense. He was chased and cut off by men with guns. While there is typically a "duty to retreat", Georgia has Stand Your Ground statutes. I don't think there is any way, beyond a deep south white jury, to imagine that the McMichaels were the victims here.

Little dick syndrome man, useless fucks want to feel important and become heros

His attitude was shitty but he never resisted arrest and they handled that terribly. He wasn't arrested for anything either.

Of course he wasn't. He was hanging out in a park when cops saw a black dude and said "fuck we better check this out".

I'm absolutely tired of circling away from race in the case of two good ol' boys with police/DA connections chasing down and murdering a black man for nothing more than trespassing.

I can't possibly imagine that these two fucks would have taken the same measures against a white guy. Period.

Physically? I highly doubt it. Everyone talks a big game, but c'mon. I would hope you aren't foolish enough to attempt to physically stop them. Verbal protest, sure. Jumping at them, and attempting to physically stop them? Nothing good will come from that.

I've been in a similar situation. I've had a cop go for my door handle, and I've physically blocked him.

I don't let cops in my car, period.

I was pulled over for speeding probably 8 years ago by a state trooper. After I denied his request to search, he got me out of the vehicle, and despite my denying his request, he went for the door handle anyway. I stepped in front of him and told him that he didn't have my consent to a search. He had me sit back in my car and wait for over an hour for dogs. His supervisor came to my window and talked to me and they left. There was no probably cause, and I imagine the supervisor wasn't happy to be pulled out with K9 unit over a speeding ticket.

Never got that ticket, by the way.

I consider that white privilege.

Imagine the absolute terror being hunted for four minutes by men in trucks with guns for fucking jogging. In a state where the organization in charge of investigating your murder was once led by the leader of the KKK, in an area that was dominated by KKK infiltration in the police force. Only to have boot lickers be like "Why didn't you lick the boots! They're tasty!"

Also it's three pieces of shit, the cameraman was hunting Ahmaud was well.

I'm imagining the video being coopted by racist bootlickers to show that Arbery was a "thug" or some nonsense.

Fuck what a racist has to say, they can hide behind their double speak like the cowards they are, we now know that white supremacists were behind the initial misinformation campaign, the same lies shit posters here were using to discredit him to save their own kind.

Your attempt to justify his aggressive initiation of battery on an armed man as self-defense is illogical. The choice to attack was not his only option. The assumption that they intended to harm him by shooting him is contradicted by the very fact they spent 4min doing exactly the opposite.

I would be interested to see precedent of armed men blocking impeding someone's movement prosecuted as aggravated assault. That's what you should be looking to find.

I don't understand why you say "conveniently timed". It makes sense that people are looking into Arbery's history.

It's hard not to be sympathetic to Arbery in this clip. The cops were excessively defensive.

He had every right to fear for his life the second they got out of the truck and pointed the shotgun at him. I'm seriously mind blown you are still arguing against this. This will probably set a precedent and be used in future cases. Every single one of their actions escalated the incident. There was multiple options for them to take that would end well for everyone, and they aggressively refused to take any of those and instead made it a strong armed attempt at an unlawful citizens arrest. How you justify any of the actions they took in mind blowing. They didn't even call 911 til minutes after they had been following him.

I really have nothing to add to this.

Well done.

And yes, I'm aware the cameraman was called in as "backup". He himself was armed.

If you agree that it appears to be an unlawful attempt at a citizens arrest, then you must agree it was an attempted kidnapping under Georgia law.

Under Georgia law, O.C.G.A. §16-5-40, a person commits the offense of kidnapping when such person abducts or steals away another person without lawful authority or warrant and holds such other person against his or her will. For the offense of kidnapping to occur, slight movement shall be sufficient; provided, however, that any such slight movement of another person which occurs while in the commission of any other offense shall not constitute the offense of kidnapping if such movement is merely incidental to such other offense. Movement shall not be considered merely incidental to another offense if it:

(A) Conceals or isolates the victim;

(B) Makes the commission of the other offense substantially easier;

(C) Lessens the risk of detection; or,

(D) Is for the purpose of avoiding apprehension

The fact that they had firearms in their unlawful attempt to detain him, makes their use of firearms illegal (aggravated assault). AA would have the right to resist their attempt to unlawfully detain him (kidnapping). AA dying because of their attempt to detain him makes it a felony murder. This has been very clear from the start.

Your constant attempt to make AA's actions unlawful is beyond silly.

No, it's not even a false imprisonment. They didn't abduct him. It is what it is. A false arrest: an unlawful, attempted citizen's arrest.
