Crime Ahmaud Arbery shooting v3

Anyone know why Arbery was arrested for stealing a TV at Walmart, last I checked you actually have to leave the store with a product without paying for it..... In the video he seems to say the TV was still in the store.

Was this just an arrest or was he convicted as well?

I'm not trying to be rude, and I'm sure you just curious so my response will come off as such, but...

Who cares? It has no bearing on this case whatsoever.

Because the video was posted in this thread and I'm curious about the reasoning for the arrest, and the conduct of the police department definitely has a bearing on this case as it has a history of corruption and this could point to another instance of police misconduct.

Also from the other side if Arbery was stealing it would be evidence that he's a thief and give support to the theory that he was casing this house/neighborhood in the past. History of Arbery and the police department is relevant in my opinion.

We already know that, in this case, Arbery had entered the unoccupied property multiple times and never stole a single thing.

Its still a talking point as well as a defense being used by the McMichaels as far as I'm aware, still relevant. Police misconduct is definitely relevant as well as the police and DA have passed blame onto each other over this case.

It wouldn't be relevant to the situation at all.

We know that Arbery trespassed on the property multiple times. As far as the court would allow, that's it. Past criminal history is typically only allowed if said offender is on trial; Not if someone else is on trial for killing him.

Pretty sure it was just a probation violation. As long as they have reasonable suspicion that he attempted to take the TV, his PO can violate him off of that.

it would crazy if it was the McMichael's who turned out to be the ones who stole the fishing gear.

by crazy I don't mean unlikely. As to likelihood I think there is just as much likelihood that the gear was stolen by someone within the neighborhood as someone outside of it.

Pleaded guilty to trying to take the TV and received a 5 year probation sentence.

Lol between Arbery and the McMichaels which one looks like they know how to use that fishing gear?! And taking fishing gear on a 2 mile walk/jog ain't fun!

yeah I had a certain step dad for a stint and he was very white and had a good job and loved breaking the 8th commandment regularly. Heck I benefited from it! It took me a few months to put 2 and 2 together. As for myself as kid I could never steal to save my life. I stole some candy from a store once when I was 5 and I felt so bad that couldn't even eat it. (Fast forward 25 years) . . . then Napster happened lol, at which point my lifelong squeaky clean record was soiled with a half a terabyte of British progressive music.

But I digress.

Hey sherbro could you please ask why have I been banned from the Ahmaud Arbery Thread on the same thread?

Shout out to my main man @Strychnine who is a black man in Georgia and has more of a stake in this than any of us white dudes arguing over it.

Stay away from the good ol' boys, buddy.

Lol nothing wrong with the good ol boys. I've been around plenty and never had an issue with any.

These dudes being good ol boys isn't the reason for this case, these dudes making stupid decisions is.

Thanks man.

I tend not to stray far from home when I go on my walks and I exercise at home. The guys I hang with are all former military like me, so we watch each others' backs.

You and I are using the phrase differently.

Thanks man.

Good.

Next time I'm down that way, we should grab a beer. If you can handle my potty mouth. :p
