After watching WrestleMania last night...

Hell yeah, I was a huge pro wrestling mark growing up and Raven was always such an enigmatic and interesting character.

“Quote the Raven, nevermore.”

WWE really screwed him up when they got him after that though . I remember being really excited when he came in but it wasn't the same and he became a faceless mid carder in the WWEs bloated roster at the time .

He was just a perfect character in 90s grunge era

WWE is unabashed fun. UFC sometimes feels ashamed of themselves.

This exactly. TS is basically saying something as dumb as "That Mayweather fight, it just wasn't as good as ANY of the first four Rocky movies...."
I really didn't get the point of this analogy, most people, including boxing fans, would rather watch the first four Rocky films over a Mayweather bout, and Mayweather is the biggest draw in combat sports.

I legitimately don’t understand how a grown adult watches this unless they have some form of mental retardation. It’s completely beyond me.

Wwe has becky lynch and ufc doesnt, thats the main issue.

Because Combat Sports never sold without drama.
Yes I’m aware people have always been weird. A fight breaks out on the street or the bar and people rush to watch, even though it ends it being some pitiful spectacle, but two guys who are actually good at fighting get locked in a cage and it’s where’s the fireworks and laser show. People would rather see fireworks and laser shows and all the flashy shit but will then turn around and complain about fighter pay.

I also have no respect for any MMA guy like DC, Cain or others who wanna go there. It shows they are not true martial artists. They are prize fighters who are businessmen and dont belong in HOF

How in the world did this comment not lead to a yellow card? Who the hell are you and what the hell have you done to say you don't respect someone for wanting to continue to earn a paycheck once their fight careers are over? Cain has had 5 fights in 6 years due to injuries because of his dedication to his craft and you have the audacity to claim he isn't a "true martial artist"? GTFO and go watch your kung-fu flicks!

Raven was one of my favs.. finally found a legit gimmick in ecw which was basically him being himself

They fucked him up in wcw too especially the way he got jobbed by Goldberg a day after winning the us title... imo that shit was pure retarded

And it was a given he was basically gonna be a jobber again when he went back to wwf

Raven only exist in one wrestling universe and that is ECW

One of the greatest minds in pro wrestling

If people want to watch boxing, they watch boxing. When people want to watch a movie, they watch a movie. Can you not see the distinction?

As for your statement about 'most people', you're full of shit.

For once we’re in total agreement.

But, you got tapped by 115lb girl and now I’m rethinking my whole viewpoint on MMA and spectacle

UFC is busch league compared to WWE in terms of production.

Pride openings with all the fighters getting introduced were epic. It would take a stacked PPV card to pull it off though.

I like the UFC entrances as they are now, would've just added an intro like that before the main card. It's an awesome way to get the crowd going. Half the audience is a bit tired after the prelims, something like this would give it a second wind for sure.

How can anyone be a fan of actual combat sports and a member of this site and admit to watching fake wrestling?

Geez...

I watched it as a kid. Then I grew up

If wrestling was like it was in the late 90s early 2000 attitude era.... I’d still watch it.

Was pure entertainment. Absolute hilarious antics, shit that would NEVER allowed to be aired.

I was watching clips the other day... a dude had a sign in the background that said “McMahon is a :eek::eek:!”

It was priceless then. Great rivalries, matches were very entertaining as well.

That’s like me saying .. “how do you enjoy a movie? It’s fake bro!”

It’s the same thing. It’s entertainment. Live entertainment.

But I think it sucks now and I haven’t had any interest to watch since like 04

See posted above.

I don’t get the “all or nothing “ mentality here.

? Look I watched wrestling as a kid and loved it but its a friggin soap opera. They are so far from each other in terms of what they are...

Your example, Pepsi vs. lets say Coke, both are caffenated cola drinks that taste a bit different.

MMA and Wrestling literally have no correlation to each other. It's like comparing a car to an ironing board

When was the last time you actually watched a full pro wrestling event?
