Man, this week's show wasn't much better than last week. It was bookended by good stuff though.

MJF/Pillars segment was very good except for the unwelcome return of a babyface Sammy. Hate him so much. Stood out like a sore thumb. Everyone else in the ring had done something, made an impact. Sammy is literally just a vanilla chump.

I skipped the Dark Order/BCC tag. I am done, done, done with this. It went ~20 minutes as well. Fuckin' hell.

Please stop having Juice Robinson talk. Grating.

Jade beat an unknown. Then another unknown appeared to at best a modest reaction.

Popped for Ricky burying the Bullet Club.

Hobbs is gonna be a bit player in a comedy group of jobbers it seems. Great use of him. Blonde looked nice, best I can say about this.

Jarrett/OC was a tad disappointing. Could've done without the prolonged crowd brawl.

The Outcasts segment was atrocious. This thing cannot be ended quick enough. This is up there with some of the worst stuff AEW have ever done.

Audio issues in back to back backstage segments.

Main event was very good. Crowd came alive for this. Aftermath was somewhat interesting. I will take anything that at the very least gets rid of the Dark Order from my screen.

.

Its amusing cause Sammy is the most decorated of the bunch too, and out of Darby, Jungle and Him, probably the best in ring. Just has that...eck factor

just realized the only pillar im actually a big fan of at the moment is MJF...heh

Hard disagree with calling Sammy the best in ring. Dude is gonna cripple himself sooner or later. I see no upside to him whatsoever.

Out of the "pillars" I only really like Darby and MJF.

Sammy is fucking annoying to the point I want to turn the TV off and Jungle Boy is just a drag.

Orange Cassidy has more appeal than Sammy or Jungle Boy.

Then who is? Darby? darby is gonna cripple himself much earlier and quicker doing dumb stuff in and out of the ring. It wont be shocking to see him being the next jeff hardy addicted to pain medication etc

Jungle Boy in ring? hes alright but doesnt pop.

Sammy has had some of the better matches in AEW - Sammy vs Cody ladder match etc

like I said, im not really a fan of any of them.

They lost me with Darby after they had him and sting beat HoB

Im much bigger on the "other" home growns, Jamie Hayter, Britt Baker to a lesser extent, Hobbs, Wardlow still has potential, Brody King

let alone the guy they should have kept making an ace until punk bitched out - hangman.

But you can make the case for hangman and the elite etc being stars before AEW

MJF is the best in ring imo. But of course subjective taste is what it is.

I lost my voice. Best live show I’ve ever seen. Even Dark was fun. Rampage is always ass, because you are so exhausted from cheering at Dynamite lol Had a lot of fun talks with the other marks in the crowd. I marked out hard for Riho. You guys didn’t hear my yelling. Four hours just flew by.

Can’t wait to do it again in July.

Also AMA about the show that may not have been televised.

Hot take I had in one of these threads back in 2021, that Sammy was the overall best of the "pillars" and had the most upside, a year and a half later I think he's shifted to number 2.

Re-ranking the "pillars" now, I got it like this.

MJF is number 1 right now obviously, being World Champ of the company, but his schtick is tired and I've literally only liked 4 of his matches in nearly 4 years of AEW's existence. Guy gets great dance partners and makes the most of it. Would love to see what he can do with random wrestlers in the lower and mid card, guy hasn't had to pull fun matches out of every roster member like Sammy and Darby have on a consistent basis for 3+ years. If the majority of your resume is Cody, Mox, Jericho, CM Punk, and Danielson, I would fucking hope you looked as good as MJF has.

Sammy can pop a crowd wrestling with a broom, the guys flippy "I'm crazy" shit works, guy gets booed out of the arena and the crowd still pops huge during his matches, that's a dynamic not a lot of people have. He's probably had the most great matches (to me personally) out of the pillars. The guy is the most naturally punchable guy on the roster and still managed to organically get over as a babyface with huge pops that only got derailed by real life drama in his personal relationships that happened to coincide at the same time with a never ending shitty feud with Dan Lambert's crew. Guy works great as a heel and the crowd was even itching to pop for him when he teased turning on Jericho during that ROH World Title 4 way a few months ago. Sammy can be a top guy and I feel like he will be.

Darby is my favorite to cheer for, but guy is gonna have a short shelf life unless he changes things up. Guy could easily be the best pillar, but I'm legit worried for the guy. Currently number 3 cause I have no idea what type of future he has with his current match style. Darby is the oldest of the pillars with the most reckless style. He's entering his 30's, that's when shit starts to hurt a lot more lol

Jungleboy is the most MID to watch in the ring and he's the worst on the mic. The only really good matches he's known for have been wild brawls. I feel like every wild brawl in AEW gets praise, can Jungleboy work a great praised match that isn't a brawl? Clear number 4.
