AEW AEW Revolution 2025 Live Thread

Went to bed after Ospreay/Fletcher because I was knackered and wasn't really invested in Mox/Copeland

Watched it today, glad I went to bed when I did and ended "my" ppv on a high with the cage match.

Mox/Cope.. meh match, shit ending. would have gone to bed right underwhelmed if i had stayed up
Right?

There is no reason Storm vs May were not the main event

Apparently the IWC really loves Cope, there's so much rage today that Cope didn't walk out with the belt.

I legitimately don't get why people love this guy so much. I guess I'm just really out of touch, the guy borderline sucks now and in his prime was MID.

People really want their nostalgia to reign supreme over the intended purpose of the storyline of the next generation stepping up to take out Mox.

Main event result was the right move, im a day 1 peep so in the moment I was butthurt about Christian but they gotta stay the course and elevate a young talent somehow in the Death Rider story.

Having the TNT Title holder on the pre-show is a waste though, so much talent and that belt is stuck. Put it on someone like Fletcher who is right on the outside of breaking through.

You can fuck off with that mid shit in his prime.

But he was good when he first showed up in aew. Then broke his leg, and is now mid, but being protected like Sting.

While I want mox away from the belt, I reallllly don't want an edge and Christian feud for the world title in 2025.

I was a massive Edge mark.

Adam Copeland was fine.

Cope sucks a bag of dicks.

That's a hill I'll die on. -In my opinion- Edge was one of the cringiest groan inducing main event talents in the history of the company. The live sex celebration was a top 20 worst segment in WWE history. His entire run with Vickie Guerrero was pure garbage, their segments were channel changing bad, he never had heel heat with me, he had go away heat with me. He had 11 World title reigns and not a single one of them were memorable. Then the matches themselves weren't exactly setting the world on fire, but that was the era where I was really into Pro Wrestling NOAH, watching Kenta Kobashi and then watching Edge and John Cena be 3 star generals I guess ain't really fair.

During the time Edge was in the main event that was probably my least favorite era in WWE history and he was one of my least favorite parts of my least favorite era.

I am counting his entire career as well.

But the big difference for us is you associate him with the shitty times, I see him as a bright light during those times.

But its all good.

We can all agree him being booked like Hogan, while having mediocre matches, is not best for business

I liked him when he was a tag guy, I liked him when he was a babyface IC title guy. But I don't really think of that as his prime.

His prime to me is Rated R Superstar, main event guy, 2005-2011.

All I got out if the main event is Edge has a Hoganesque ego and they made Christian look like a clown.

Christian’s done a lot of good things in AEW and this is how they treat him, he had a gimmick to bail out a cornered storyline when “that doesn’t work for me brother” and they cash it on his pal Edge.

Could be totally wrong on Edge’s ego, but I mean Ricky Saints.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just finished the show. My goodness. Went in with high expectations and they were met! I am starting to be cautiously optimistic once more.

MJF vs Hangman was good. That tombstone spot was crazy and also MJF getting dropped on his face.

Mercedes vs Momo lady was fine. The latter laid her shit in and then some.

Swerve vs Ricochet was good. Thankfully Swerve won, though it did make me dread the main event that much more. I wonder where Ricochet goes from here and if he can maintain his aura post-Swerve.

Okada vs Brody was good. More shit being laid in!

Tag title match was there. I don't think I ever need to see the Outrunners again.

Toni vs Mariah. Dear lord. Madness! Toni with another all-timer blade job. Possibly my favourite thing on the show. Would much rather this main evented.

Kenny vs Take was very good as expected!

Will vs Kyle was also insane. As I thought the tag match in Aussie land was a mere appetizer for the real shit!

Main event was dog shit. Both Excalibur and JR tried to cover for an indifferent crowd on separate occasions. They came alive for Christian at least. I will also say that they smartly ended the show hot. Let's go Swerve, finally end this Death Riders horseshit.

So I went back and watched Will and Kyle, Cope and Mox and fell asleep again during cope and Mox. Went back and while I don’t hate the ending of Christian screwing Cope, and then not getting job done himself, I loved the Swerve ending to PPV

Who’s house?

Stop falling asleep, man. You are pissing me off. Don't disrespect My Business!

honestly, the only DQ I can remember was the double DQ during the Cutler/Avalon feud
PAC got himself a DQ in the Kenny Iron Man match as well.

It is fairly rare. More likely a match is thrown out if lots of inteference. Which makes more sense than awarding it to the person attacked even if the other guy had nothing to do with it.
