AEW AEW Double or Nothing 2025 Live Thread

Man, that Anarchy in the Arena was cool as fuck. I need to watch that back again. Pure chaos the whole time. I wonder how much it cost Big Tone to play Drowning Pool like 6 times <lmao>
I've caught some of th highlights and it looks like exactly what it's supposed to be, just complete madness. I appreciate that they know that's what it is and lean into it heavily. I'll see if I can watch the whole thing somewhere

This is still one of my favorite anarchy moments just for the commentary

"That can't be legal!"
"CAN'T BE LEGAL?!"
<lmao>

Very much enjoyed DoN. Thought there were a couple of matches that could've been left off and the show be less than 4 hours, but whatevs.

Mercedes vs Hayter was very good. Match at All In should be insane. There was one thing in this match that quite pissed me off - them cutting to crowd reaction shots during the closing of the match. I can do without that shit.

FTR vs Nigel/Garcia was fine. A smidge long.

Briscoe vs Ricochet was great. Man, what a blade job.

Tag title match was fine. Died at Sammy doing the job.

Okada vs Speedball was there. Went way too long.

Mina vs Toni was good. The kiss!

AITA was very good. One of the better ones for sure. Popped big for Bodies after the Pointer Sisters. Died at Willow having that Hobbs t shirt.

Trios match was there. Cole's crew looked like they won a competition to wrestle on an AEW ppv.

Main event was great. Hangman vs Mox at All In. Let's go!

I was a lone Ricochet defender when he joined AEW and even when he was in his "happy to be here" phase. Dude is the top heel now, can put on a good match vs pretty much anyone, hell even in a brutal match with Briscoe. Never expected his AEW run to be this solid.

AITA was too fun, pretty much everyone shined. Unfortunately the weak link seemed to be Mox out of the whole bunch which is odd because hes always down for violence and to bleed plus as champ I expected a huge showing from him.

The Bucks are always excellent in these matches and this was no different. I wasn't sure how Hobbs would do but he shined every time he was on screen, crowd erupted with the spine buster through the table and Willow came in and hit one, enjoyed their work. I like the Claudio spots in these matches because he brings something different. Great match, Omega and Joe are still legendary (honorable mention to Shibata).

How was the show last night? I heard good things.

Pretty surprised at the Hanger win, but not mad, just intrigued.

Awesome show from top to bottom.

Mercedes vs. Hayter is a women's MOTY contender

FTR vs. Nigel and Garcia was a solid match, did it's job of giving FTR mega heat, was cool seeing Nigel get some of his old shit in

Ricochet vs. Mark Briscoe was dope, did a great job of actually having the stretcher involved in a lot of big spots

Hurt Syndicate vs. Sons of Texas, I missed some of this match, actually did get up and stretch my legs. Probably caught half the match and enjoyed what I saw.

Okada vs. Speedball delivered. Okada made Speedball look like a star and an actual threat as a wrestler. One of those matches that even in loss, the loser wins.

Timeless Toni vs. Mina was really good. Knew Toni was gonna win, but another one of those even in loss, the loser wins type matches, Mina came out looking like a real threat in the division.

Anarchy in the Arena was a blast, it definitely delivered on the anarchy. Lots of fun spots and the crowd was going bonkers with the music.

Callis Family vs. Paragon was a solid match as expected, could've just been a TV match, but it served it's purpose as a good cool down match after AITA.

Hangman vs. Ospreay was a master class in professional wrestling. Match of the Year for me.

Did you watch NXT instead? How was that? Hope you enjoyed it
Trick and Hendry was clunky at best but everything else was solid

Vaquer and Grace had one helluva match. I’d say I got more into it than even her matches with my Gules. Steph really sold for her and made her look like the bruising challenger. She even started to turn the crowd at some point. It was excellent

Hank & Tank are quickly becoming standouts in NXT. They just have a fun Nasty Boys vibe to them and their tag match was also really good.

Overall, it was a very fun show

I like how sometimes AEW uses the co main as a cool down match. It really works as like the calm before the storm and gives the crowd a break before getting back into things one more time

Don't forget Sol vs Kelani. That match was great and started the show off HOT. NXT women's division is just insane right now.
