This is just all speculation from me, but Private Party was doing pretty well at the time and getting really good crowd reactions, so I think Tony gave them a quick, "thank you for your service" run. Nick Jackson was supposedly really beat up and needed a few months off, so the Bucks had to drop the titles. Quick pat on the back transition run.

Private Party was a Young Bucks signing when AEW first launched, wouldn't doubt they had a say in who they were going to drop to.
Apparently Private Party were in line for a tag titles run earlier but injuries kept pushing them back.

I'm biased because im a fan of his, but they really could have done a bit more with Kassidy on his own. Brother Zay was a dumb fun character that took off, everyone in that final deletion really got pushed aside on a random Rampage and it was one of the more entertaining things they did up to that point. Went on a rant there lol.

Brother Zay doing the moan in Kenny Omega's ear followed by Ethan Page yelling "NICE" is still hilarious <lmao>

AEW and Jon Moxley are getting sued by a production crew member that Moxley shoved to the ground during that cage match with Kenny Omega in 2023. Guy said he had to have neck fusion surgery and shoulder surgery because of it.

Moron who believes his own bullshit pushes non-worker because management has never made any attempts at control.

Papa Khan gets to pay a settlement

This is why smart people use extras for these spots.

So the screwdriver stuff wasn’t only just stupid, it turns out to be expensive too.

If the guy didn’t agree to being shoved, he was still complicit because he agreed to walk around with the screwdriver they needed for that stupid ass spot no one remembered until this story happened.

Reading up on the case, it sounds like a lawyer money grab. Apparently he kept working for the next year and a half, never filed an incident report for any injury to his company or AEW, after he got demoted with his company at the end of 2024 he applied to work directly for AEW, after AEW didn't hire him directly that's when he got surgery and decided to sue, 2 years later.

The guy admits in the lawsuit that he didn't file an incident report for the injuries because he had another job he needed to get to that was also a touring job.

Now he has to prove that the surgery that occurred 2 years later was a direct result of that shove back in May 2023. Good luck.

So I guess that means AEW production isn't in house.

Yeah, Ric. Some dude who isn't trained to take bumps may have a life long neck injury is a pussy. Im also sure your boss who is getting sued likes you publicly stating it as well.

This Indy fed lasted longer than Jimmy G did as SF's QB Rex.

Just because someone is working a full time job and appears healthy, you just never know what they have going on. You could still be working a physical job and have neck or back issues that an unexpected shove from a professional wrestler could cause a problem with

Sounds like they contract a 3rd party company for the set crew and carpentry work.
Stu the cameraman didnt sue when Xavier Woods and Kofi accosted him and stole his camera a few months ago.

Im jacked but I strained a disc in my lower back squatting 3 months ago. I couldn't walk right for like 4 days. Its still bothering me today. During those first 2 weeks if some 235 pound dude shoved me without me expecting it I could have easily seen it getting messed up worse, possibly even needing surgery. And you'd bet your ass Id sue. But, yeah, if people see me walking around, 240 pounds of muscle, they wouldn't know I have been dealing with this spine issue for months. it's why I havent started BJJ yet.

Apparently AEW uses IATSE union crew. If this guy was union and didn't file an incident report for his injuries, it's like he's allergic to getting paid.

If Mox did cause his injuries, I hope he does get something, but good lord it's like he's actively shooting himself in the foot along the way of trying to get paid.

Dude woukd get nuclear heat from his union if he didn’t file an incident report because he just made their fees even more expensive.

Sounds like someone gave him a Better Call Saul pitch and got worked.
