Another thing is one of the commentators for HOG is a big AEW grifter on Youtube so it could just be his mates trying to cause a scene. Not really. Just wrestling fans jumping to conclusions and taking what wrestlers say as complete truth. You know, those dudes that lie to us for a living.
One thing I will say in Tony Khan's defense is that he expects contracts to be fulfilled on both ends. He won't randomly cut talent due to "budget cuts" but he also expects talent to see it out to the end of their contracts too.Ricky Starks was wrestling at HOG when people started the "Fuck TK" chant since Tony Khan has basically shut Ricky out of AEW for almost a year when Ricky has been ready to work the entire time.
A lot of fans are upset with Tony Khan spending the early years of AEW getting goodwill by saying shit like "I won't do shady business like WWE", only to end up doing all of the shit WWE does like adding injury time to contracts, or doing mass layoffs of people currently under contract, or icing them out and having them just sit at home. He lied to get the goodwill of fans and wrestlers just to end up being exactly like the people he called the bad guys.
Tony also recently got his feelings hurt by Effy, so he pulled AEW wrestlers from GCW shows even though Effy is just a wrestler that doesn't have anything to do with booking or running GCW.
There's basically a lot of "fuck AEW" sentiment in indy wrestling right now.

I think you might have added an extra "dozen" there. The dozens(and dozens) of HOG wrestling fans are going to take down Tony Khan!![]()
He may have had that kindness at the start, but the last 5 years have been rough on TK and he realized the business is cut throat. Also Rey Fenix fulfilled his contract, to the end of it. Signed for x amount of years, didn't ask to leave early and stayed loyal to AEW for those x amount of years. Fenix was injured in an AEW ring and Tony Khan added injury time to his contract and then benched him solely so Fenix wouldn't leave to a competitor.
It was Tony Khan's right to add that injury time, but let's not pretend that doesn't go completely against everything Tony Khan said how he would conduct business to get goodwill from both fans and wrestlers in the early days of AEW.
Fans are just acting shocked realizing Tony Khan was full of shit and is exactly like the people he said he wouldn't be like. It is what it is. Guy is an actual business man instead of the "good guy" he portrayed himself to be, it sucks, but oh well.
He did? Well my memory sucksHe literally did a mass release of people under contract in April 2024 lol
I don't care either way, but Tony Khan 100% isn't a saint when it comes to fulfilling contracts.
He did? Well my memory suckscan't even remember who was released
Think Jose the Assistant and Stu Grayson were a couple of them, maybe Dasha.

Of course Eddie Kingston picked the burger

Maybe he's only good at eating... burgers. They don't call him the Burger King for nothing, Beeg.
Seriously Rex?!
Truth.I think you might have added an extra "dozen" there.
