I tuned in out of curiosity. Saw who I think is Big Cass standing in the ring with a giant tree made out of construction paper.

<{hughesimpress}>

You're now breathing the Rarified Air in the Vortex of Jericho under The Learning Tree

That line should tell you enough on whether or not you should tune in again next week.

My speech professor in college kept a buzzer on his desk. Every “you know”, “you see”, “man”, or phrase he deemed to be useless filler was a buzz and full letter grade down for the assignment. Got that shit outta me quick and I still cringe saying them lol

With all due respect that professor didn't know shit! He'd have failed The Hulkster in his class who is one of the great orators of our time, man!

Aint no ACADEMIC gonna tell me that isn't effective communication, jack!

Joe and Hook are together now?

Actually, I don't hate it. They have a similar intensity in their ring work. Maybe Joe is the mentor Hook needs, like Doctor Cox to Hook's JD.
A scrubs reference?!

What was the over/under on Paige causing problems in AEW?

The Hook/Joe team up is interesting, as Tazz was Joe's manager for a spell in TNA.

Dynamite was excellent

Confirmed: Mercedes comes off way better when she WRESTLES. She came off like a superstar at DON and the same can be said last night. Her and Vaquer at FD will be tremendous.

Best Jericho segment in like a year and that's because of Samoa Joe and the promo afterwards. If Hook can't figure it out with Joe, he's never figuring it out.

Statlander did 2 promos and hit them out of the park. She'll be a great heel and the feud with her and Willow will be tremendous. Trent's holes are charisma and mic work, he has Don Callis now. He couldn't have a better spot.

Tony Khan's decision to turn Okada and put him in The Elite is still a stroke of genius. Okada is having fun with it and probably made the right choice going to hang out with his buddies in AEW.

That was the best Casino Gauntlet/Battle Royal in AEW history. Ospreay/Swerve this soon is intriguing, so I guess Swerve wins this one and then loses at All In in a rematch.

Lots of people upset Swerve/Ospreay happening at FD and not All In. I like it. To have the match at All In is too predictable. It being in Ospreays country is also predictable he wins. Having it now while both are hot? Lots of unpredictability.

I'm happy I get to see it live.

This week's Dynamite was meh. Some glimmers here and there, but so much awfulness. Pitch black arena was an eyesore throughout.

Mercedes segment was there. At least it Ms Blue back on my screen.

Swerve vs Luchasaurus was fine. Swerve really needs to lose that stomp move. It looks so terrible.

Jericho segment was the shits. AEW isn't wCw 2000 as a whole, but this segment sure was. Groan inducing bullshit and when it's all said and done, nobody will have gotten over. Just like the Inner Circle, just like the JAS. And they're still trying with Hook? Fuck.

Mox vs Romero went an eternity for reasons. Pointless.

Trent is with the Don Callis Family to continue a feud which he is 0-2 in.

Mercedes vs Blue was fine. I dunno what Mercedes' finisher is supposed to do. Worst one I've seen in some time. Doesn't she have a submission hold? Use that.

CMLL lady looked nice.

Stokely was hilarious. Kris did well on this show too. Could have something there with those two. Best thing on the show by far.

Bucks sadly did not just hand Jack the belt because we just have to have qualifying matches for ladder match or something via new authority figure Christopher Daniels. Yay...

Main event was fine. Very surprised, though pleasantly so at the result. Will vs Swerve already? OK!

Taking a crack at Forbidden Door card

1. Ospreay vs Swerve
2. Mox vs Gran Guerrero or ZSJ
3. Mone vs Vaquer
4. Perry vs Takeshita vs Rush vs Mistico vs Hiromu vs Darby
5. Danielson vs Naito
6. Toni vs Maika
7. May and Mina vs Saraya and Tessa
8. Okada vs Hechicero
9. Stat, Trent and Suzuki vs Willow, OC and Tanahashi
10. Samoa Joe vs Jeff Cobb
11. Bang Bang Gang vs Finlay, Kidd and Conors
12. Bucks vs KENTA and Owens vs Los Nuevos Ingobernables

That would be a very nice card, Joe Cobb and Okada Hechicero for sure, I read somewhere that ZSJ wont be available which sucks but id also like him to grab a win for once on a FD. Also hate that Rush can't be used on this, he could be a hard hitting match up for anyone.

I could be completely wrong but I have a feeling we might get double duty from Ospreay and that's how he loses to Swerve and leads to All In.

In hindsight, I should've tried some "babbeh" and "daddeh"'s to see how he liked that. I think he would have let it slide cause It's all about EMO-SHUN, babbeh!

Why book Ospreay to lose in June if the plan is to have him win in August? Better to book both him and Swerve strong until Wembley, give them both plenty of momentum before the biggest card of the year.

I think it's just an assumption by fans that the plan is to have him win at All In. When he started the program for the International title last month, I assumed that was the excuse to keep out him out of the World title match at Wembley so the fans would kill their assumptions lol

Now I'm thinking they go one of two ways with it...

He loses at Forbidden Door, but they add a New Japan or CMLL guy to make it a Triple Threat so Ospreay doesn't eat a pin. Ospreay defends his International title at Wembley like he was going to anyway.

or

Swerve goes full heel again, beats Ospreay with some shenanigans, they run it back at Wembley. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll merge the International title with the World title and have one less title on the show lol

Or they create a 3rd title to signify the titles being unified like when Jay White carried around 10 titles for the trios lol

I'm happy for you! Weirdly enough it means I might miss it at Wembley but I ain't mad. It'll be a good card regardless and I like the matchup for Forbidden Door for the reasons you said
