This would have been the perfect spot for him to drop the belt. He is still trying to sell the "War for 2024" angle, and no one is going to buy that with him having the belt. They should have cut all the Adam Cole shit out, and used it to drive a feud out of the two. MJF should have got screwed out of the title, like he has done in almost all his major wins. MJF could have sold the "you weren't there for me when I needed you, I'm out." Stop putting him on TV, stop mentioning him on TV, lean into it. Leak your shit to the dirt sheets again that he isn't happy and is most likely done.

Cole and Jay White could have feuded for the belt, build that up until Revolution in March. MJF makes the surprise (again) return after 3 months and screws Cole out of the belt. Jay goes on to feud with anyone, and MJF and Cole do there thing.
