Adesanya gets a title shot over Glover

He has a problem with the booking... How does not watching solve anything.

We get Adesanya is your boy, but he makes a good point.

The booking is still popular though. Just wondering how they leapfrog over the top LHW contender

UFC cares about money above anything else

If enough people don’t watch then they’ll get the message that the people want “legit” number one contenders to get title shots

It may not help Glover but it will help he next guy

VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET!!!
Okay, good reason.

Although, with the ESPN deal, Dana doesn't care as much about PPV buys as he used to.

Oh, I mean I know Izzy vs Jan will do more PPV buys than Jan vs Glover, I just don't think that should be a reason to book the fight.

And Jones gets a title shot at HW. What's up guys fighting for a title in a division they never spent a minute in?

I understand Jones but why does Adesanya gets a title shot over Glover who just beat Santos...

Perhaps the UFC really wants to promote Izzy as the next big thing. And they really want that Jon Jones match up, Jon would have to do it at 205, I doubt Izzy would go to HW right now.

Why do people act so confused that being champion comes with certain perks and benefits.

A champions challenge to another champion should carry more weight and be treated like its the bigger fight.

That said I don't fully feel izzy has earned that right yet but Jones has and if gsp wants it he has as well.

Izzy took out Romero(ok won the worst fight ever), Costa and Whittaker who took out everyone else. Everyone else is coming off a loss except vettori and that's another rematch. Whittaker or Vettori are people who have a claim to a title shot at this stage.

Another couple defences would have been nice, but I see why he jumped up.

2 division champ is worth a damn.

I guess the most legit one is Nunes, but you can barely call that a division so....

Maybe also DC since he atleast defended the HW title, but he also got a free shot.

I know thats why I'm not strongly objecting about it .... I don't know what the magic number of defenses is before you are entitled to whatever fight you want but it just seems like he's a few short of that number.

If Whittaker was a defence and the Yoel fight wasn't so shit I would be more ok with it. I think atleast 3 defences before you start looking above. Unfortunately 185 is a weird division. We went from it being insanely stacked prior to GSP cherry picking Bisping to it being a bit average at the moment. This is only due to all the top contenders trading wins and losses against each other. This is what happens when all the top guys actually fight instead of what happens in a lot of other divisions.

Champion privilege. It's like that for all champions moving up or down in weight. Even former champions get put into title contention right away once switching weight classes. Because the status of champion/former champion is greater than the status of contender.

Agree. While I may admire Izzy for stepping up and challenging himself, he hasn't cleaned out his division. JJ cleaned out LHW. Izzy is too early while JJ is long overdue.

Izzy is fighting Jan because there is no one available for Izzy at MW because he already fought and beat Whittaker so what is the point of the rematch especially it was not close fight so that we can say that Rob deserves a rematch

Izzy dont care about Weight Class he just want to fight Jones But first thing first he has to beat Jan then we can talk about the Jones/Izzy SUPERFIGHT

This is still speculative. Especially for Jones, despite all the talk of him moving up I won't believe it until the cage door closes behind him against Ngannou/Miocic.

And nothing official has been booked for Israel vs Jan yet, either, only rumors for March. So we'll see. It is a little bit unfair to Glover, but which fight would you honestly rather watch, anyway? I'd rather watch Israel vs Jan than Jan vs Glover.

Dominant champ is better than contender

This is a plague.
And if they win... what's next? They would be holding up at least one division.
