Adderall and BJJ

i encourage everybody to check out modafinil. it's officially for narcolepsy but it's used off-label for cognitive enhancement and adult ADHD.

crisis fatigue + grad school was kicking my ass a few weeks ago. doc and i agreed pharmaceutical intervention would help, but i was wary about the long-term effects of stimulants on my cardiovascular health.

a month's supply was $40 out-of-pocket. it's been phenomenal. not sure i'd have made it otherwise. just wrapped up the semester today and am i'm looking forward to seeing how things go now that i can get more than 4 hours of sleep.

wow, i actually thought Adderall would help. i figured you would be straight focused. interesting
im on vyvnase. i think it just depends on the person. everybody chemistry is different. I am straight focused.

amphetamines already increases your heart rate, blood pressure, metabolism, et cetera. my RHR on vyvanse was in the 90's, and my blood pressure averaged something like 180/120.

within a month of being off, RHR was back down to 60, and my BP was 110/60 like it had always been.

there's a family history of heart attacks and MI's, and that was enough to scare me off the stuff for good. i don't think it should be banned or discouraged or any of that nonsense, but i have reservations about athletes and kids taking the stuff.

and i don't mean to bang the weed drum here, but it still baffles me that the government refuses to acknowledge the medicinal benefits, insists on locking up every black or brown person with a bit in their pocket, yet approves shit like oxycontin for clinical trials in children.

not that 14-year olds should be getting baked, but from personal experience i'd rather have them stoned out of their minds than gorked on opioids or tweaking on amphetamines

I had a similar experience to this. I was very concerned with my rhr in the 90s too. I express this to my doctor and she said not to worry, as long as you feel fine(wore hr monitor for a day as well, and she didnt find any concern results). After that my rhr dropped. I think the worry of the drug affected my rhr rose my axienty.
