ADCC 2019

Miyao pulls guard. Nicky looking to pass.
Nothing really happens for 5 minutes.

Miyao is now playing the stand up game now that points matter. Seems to be a common strategy for a lot of guys.

Paulo just pulled guard for the negative point. This might be the one mistake that costs him the match.

Paulo on a single leg. Loses it.

Paolo deep on a leg lock entry. Loses it. Nicky counters and we're in a weird ass entanglement.

Miyao gets two points for a sweep.

They're both back to the feet.

Paulo on a single, Nicky stuffs it. Paolo pulls guard. No negative point. He's still up 2-0.

Nicky hasn't had a really good moment in the entire match.

Paulo playing guard. Nicky working to pass. Not looking for leg locks at all.

Miyao wins 2-0 from that sweep. Good match. I'm sure Nicky is disappointed in his performance. He didn't really have any good offense in that match.

BRB. Gonna prep some steaks. I don't care much about the current guys on the mat. But I hope Maciel (Cobrinha's son) wins. Hope Ruotolo wins.

Vagner Rocha wins a slap fest by a negative point.

Let's just skip ahead to the absolute for the inevitable Buchecha vs Gordon match

Maciel gets two for a TD. Wins.

Just read that Gordon actually has food poisoning. LMAO. And he still the guy with the least mat time because he's tapped his first two opponents. Really hope he doesn't have to pull out tomorrow.

Ruotolo gets the judges decision.

Tanquinho vs Gabriel is scoreless. Gabriel playing defense for the most part. And Tanq gets the TD in emphatic fashion. Nice. Buuuut they don't score it because Gabriel recovered fast enough.

And Tanq gets the JD. That's it for the night.

Lots of really good BJJ. Lots of terrible wrestling.

I'm not sure if I"m going to catch it live tomorrow. Overall it was a fun event.

Hope if Gordon wins the whole thing will then announce he's giving himself fully to MMA.

Just one leglock I think...

I guess vinny was right all along, leglocks don’t work...

Every time Gordon mentions MMA these days, he seems to talk about how much he sucks at striking & isn't close to ready. Meanwhile, he keeps booking grappling matches. I think the sub game will have him to themselves for a while yet.

would be great to see im ready to see the next gen of bjj guys go to mma to evolve the grappling we need it more than ever as strikers have really got tdd down to the t

lol well they are hard to and on guys who know how to defend them theirs levels to things at the top levels of adcc ye sim sure it will be harder to land due to everyone knowing that they are popular now now guys are gonna have to try to find new ways to get fast wins im curious to see the next "meta" that guys come out with

Could they not design larger matts with more out of bounds mat space.
A couple of matches now have been marred by going onto the concrete and landing on people, tables etc

They were talking about how great the production would be this ADCC but seemed to have dropped the ball on some of the basics

If that's the case, I think he should start focus 100% on improve his striking and stop booking all this grappling match, this if MMA is still the final goal for him, of course. I mean if he wins adcc absolute and maybe avenge the loss against Felipe Pena, what's left to do for him in the sport?

Then if he changed his mind and prefers to rack up grappling titles it is more than respectable, but the way he always talked it seems like he wanted to become the next best MMA thing.. if it's still his idea, I think it would make sense to jump on it as soon as possible.

Just wait til Gordon dominates Buchecha in the Absolute Final

Um Gordon still has a couple matches before he gets there. Lets remember he has a loss to Vinny to avenge and could meet him in the finals. That's what I want to see. They've had plenty beef to settle.

Stop working on his biggest strength? I disagree. Gordon can’t stop grappling, it’s his best weapon, gotta keep the blade sharp. Meanwhile, it keeps his name out there, & reminds everyone how good he is.

Besides, he has Danaher personally overseeing his career, & GSP on speed dial, I’m sure his skills are being properly analyzed & the course of his training & MMA aspirations are moving in smart directions.

USADA the big obstacle there.

Rodriguez decisions his way to the Finals against cyborg. Kaynan also beats buchecha. Holy shit. Kaynan going down as one of the goats. Nick also having a breakout year.
