Dana hasnt officially said that Mcgregor has been stripped because casuals that dont even know weight classes, are oblivion to the fact that Mcnugget's belt is being fought for by two men other than himself. In other words, to casuals, Mcgregor is the champ until 223 happens... Which will generate some attraction.

However, if you follow the sport, you know that Mcgregors days are numbered and that pretty much Fergusons interim belt is the real belt, and the only available for opponents to obtain.

Theres no way Dana will let Ferguson VS Khabib winner stay as the interim champ. It would be too controversial.
You cant let someone vacate the title for 2+ years, its hurting the UFC and its giving Mcgregor too much leverage.

I hear Khabib has one of the biggest fan followings on social media in all UFC... So its not like the division is dead.

Regardless of Dana's reasons, wether to hype Ferguson or piss off Mcgregor, he is introducing Ferguson as the undisputed champ at conferences.

Or they are waiting till Ferg and Nurm are for sure going to fight since it's fallen through 3 times already and if they do fight it'll be for the undisputed belt,which means,if true,Conor isn't stripped of the belt yet.There's a few possible reasons why they are dancing around it,they are all stupid reasons but still reasons like this fight hasn't happened a bunch of times and stripping Conor is unfortunately bad for business and that's just the UFC these days.

before tony/khabib fights they'll announce gsp vs conor and that conor vacates his belt.

then conor will fight gsp ,lose,collect paycheque and go back to twitter/instagram to continue proclaiming greatness while still having 2 belt with an option to come and fight for it again whenever he wants...

if you watched the sport AND have common sense, you would know that Conor isn't getting stripped because UFC is a business first.
