Abraham vs. Ward, who wins?

I am still taking AA. He has the defense and patience to make Ward come to him. And he clearly has retained his power at 168. My concern for him is that he tends to start slow and so he could be behind by 3 or more rounds before he comes on.

It is hard to know what to make of Ward's victory of Kessler. It was so one sided that I don't know whether Ward is that good or if Kessler just had a terrible, terrible night. Don't get me wrong, Ward is good but that good...?

i read the title of your thread a week ago. excuse after excuse. up until now you're predictions about Ward have been wrong and you've pointed everything else out other than the fact that your predicitions have been terrible.

whatever....i know when ward loses you're gonna rub it in my face the difference is i won't cry about it. just like when juan diaz was butted multiple times by campbell. it wasn't the butts that lost that fight for diaz, it was that campbell beat that ass. was campbell leading with his head? absolutely. did he throw elbows throughout the night? yep. did campbell donate an asskicking you better fucking believe it and win fair and square? according to the ref he didn't break the rules so the answer to that is obviously, yes.

is there an american born fighter you like?

Come on... I didn't say all those things. But the things I did say are true and you fucking know it. And like I said before, Ward would have beat Kessler without the dirty. But still he was fucking dirty and plenty in that fight. And it wasn't just the headbutts... Oakland's finest. Shouldn't have expected anything less.

Whether you consider it being whinny or not, I don't really care. You watch that fight again. He was holding and hitting, pawing with his jab with an open thumb, actively negotiating his head to compound the damage already done from the ram butting.

And Miranda was done. The fighter Ward fought was nothing like the one that tried to kill Abraham or tear off Pavlik's head. All he did was occasionally throw some telegraphed rights and was gassed like hell. A wind would have blew him over from round 8 and on. And considering his inability to absorb what he could dish out and Ward literally being able to land at will, Ward could have finished him. I strongly believe that.

Personally, I feel I am just being critical. And being critical shouldn't equate to being a whinny bitch. Whinny bitches drink hatorade and do not provide support to their claims. They make shit up. I don't make shit up. If Ward wins the tournament, I'll give him props. Big respect. I'm not wishing for him downfall like Gunranger dreaming every night Pacquiao gets his head smashed in.

And just because the ref didn't rule infractions doesn't mean his actions are right. IMO, that ref did a terrible, terrible job. Take it as being whinny if you like. C'est la vie...

Jermaine is predictable and his handspeed doesn't come close to Dirrell's or Ward's. Also, because of the way Jermaine fights, he negated any speed advantage he may have had over AA. His hands were faster than AA's (marginally) but if you have zero head movement, and next to zero foot movement, handspeed doesn't count for much.

AA's hands are decently fast, but not near the speed of Dirrell or Ward.
Also, AA's foot movement isn't in the same league.

AA's got a power advantage, the American boys have a speed advantage IMO, and I like both Andre's to kick his ass with technique (unless Dirrell focuses on the Froch decision debaucle and decides to trade, in which case he gets KTFO)... however, both of them would be going to decision, so who fucking knows?
 
Abraham by stoppage late into the fight because he can pull a KO from nowhere just like he did against Taylor
 
AA catches Dirrell late and wins by KO. Dirrell just seems too impatient and although he is much faster AA will make him pay in rounds 8-12.

Ward on the other hand seems to be a much smarter fighter than Dirrell. Ward over AA by UD to win the Super Six.
 
i'm gonna go with ward to win it all, he looked impressive in his fight with kessler

The style is pretty simple to figure out, really, it's just that his execution is quite good, and he has very good power to help him out.


It wouldn't surprize me if JT remains his only win of the tourney, but, I also wouldn't be surprized if he win's the whole thing. His style, however, isn't a mystery in the least. It's simple to come up with a gameplan to defeat AA, the devil is in carrying it out.

There isn't a dog in the six, and I've never felt as though there is one guy head and shoulders above the others either.
 
This is the most interesting fight of the tournament for me, these are the 2 frontrunners and always have been in my eyes. Ward will be able to outbox him, and take a lot of rounds. The problem will be when ward gets into his groove and then AA changes gears and trys to turn the fight around and stop him. While ward is definitely faster, AA has almost unmatched speed is his counter right hand, it is an incredibly fast punch he throws. My personal view, its a 50/50 and a knockdown by AA late in the fight might be the difference in points.

I agree its simple,which leaves little room for error.
I can see him winning the tourney with no other ko's,but not his only win.
 
First everyone said miranda was gonna run over ward. Ward was stronger then miranda. Then everyone was saying kessler would smoke ward. Ward smoked him. After ward ko's taylor and dirrel, abraham will get his beating too. Ill take kessler over abraham in a heartbeat.
 
Ward is going to embarrass him. Abraham hasn't fought anyone with the speed and footwork that Ward has. Abraham is going to dig himself into a hole early with his inactivity. With AA's high guard he's hard to hit if you come straight at him. You have to use angles, Ward won't have a hard time getting behind his elbows. When he does that Abraham's hands will get low and he's going to get tagged up. This will be a bad fight for AA.
