I thought the term Holland only covers a portion of the country though, where as Netherlands is the entire 12 provinces.. I was under the impression this is how the country represents itself in totality, and is perceived internationally... Historically no doubt there have been complications, like anywhere else.. Do Danes also take issue with England not being called the Danelaw in 2022?They say the name difference comes down to an age old political struggle for power and influence. The Netherlands represents the British perspective. Holland represents everyone else.
