Abandoned franchises/IP's that need revitalizing

You ever play Pirates of the Caribbean?

I didn't know about it's development but when I read that it was a sequel to Sea Dogs, a lot of things made sense. It never felt connected to the Pirates of the Carribean movie apart from the Black Pearl ship and the skeleton pirates. I really liked the game.

I had that on xbox. I never was that good at it, but overall felt like it would have been a great game.

I quite like the redone Sid Meier's pirates that came out a bit later.

Master of Magic (community done Caster of Magic update is pretty badass, but still needs a refresh)

Master of Orion

Tie Fighter and X-Wing

Star Wars squadrons was very very good. Just wasn't marketed well enough.

Socom will always be my number 1 answer. Alot of great choices already listed in here so tried not to double up.

Earthworm Jim, Def Jam, Gex, Splatterhouse, F Zero. I feel old with some of those choices lol.

Panzer Dragoon, Powerstone, Sega Rally, Metropolis Street Racer, Road Rash, Headhunter, Shenmue with a writer that can finish a fucking story...

Galaxy on Fire 2 for IOS was an excellent game. Shame 3 was so far adrift...

Now we're talking

Quake

I can't believe they haven't done a remake yet. It has some of the best sound production and aesthetics I've seen in a game and would look amazing with modern graphics. The demons look pretty silly for instance but could be savage with the Doom 2016 treatment. And the gameplay is stellar.

Do they still make Flashback/Abe's odysee type games?
Loved Flashback back in the day. No-one talks about it. Remember how hard some of those gaps were to jump for ledge-grab then hoist yourself up?

Here's a trailer. Admittedly, it does look cool. It's just one of those things that isn't for me. Maybe if it comes to PS Plus or gets heavily discounted I'll try it out.

Impressive pivot between genres.

Of these, I'm really surprised we haven't had a new Road Rash in a long time. It's a pretty simple concept that's a ton of fun.

I especially loved the rivalries with the NPC's. I don't know how the AI worked, but there always seemed to be a few that were close to us for a while before things switched up. Getting tossed from the bike and having to run back really made the risk /rewardof driving in the wrong lane ...risky :D

There's a sort of spiritual successor that came out in 2019. I think I did the early access, or some supporter bundle that lets you name an NPC's. There's probably a GtheMVP in the game being a dick.

It's not bad, more of a rogue-like Road Rash. I think it's 4-player split-screen on consoles too. It just didn't have the race tournaments I loved in RR. AI rubberbanded heavily too, but I haven't touched it in a while.

*edit, 4-player split screen on PC too.
