A Sinister fist tutorial:

Fedor throws a casting punch.

Similar in fist orientation, but not so much from the shoulder as the Sambo guys tend to throw it. It's been postulated around her before that the Russians probably learned to punch that way in a sort of exchange of techniques between Soviet Bloc countries, because the Cubans at Sinister's gym have a punch very much like the casting punch called "el Schwing."

oh ok awesome thank you for clarifying. It was hard to hear and see it a little from my phone haha.

The three knuckle landing was discussed in the opening video, but with a correct fist formation the thumb is not restrictive of landing with the first two knuckles.

el swing is just how cubans call a hook

Am I correct in assuming you predominantly land punches with the first two knuckles? If so, are there situations where you ever try to land punches with three knuckles? I personally find a long hook with a vertical fist to be more comfortable with the three knuckle landing, and others with two knuckle landings.

How tight are wrists generally wrapped? Should I be able to move my wrists enough to align the knuckles differently (either 2 or 3), or am I wrapping incorrectly if I'm able to do so?

In the video I describe which punches call for which knuckles. It's not always the first two.

Wrist wraps depend on comfort, and the one doing the wrapping. I wrap wrists more thickly than I do knuckles when I wrap my fighter's hands.
