Yall got any nogi techs.... im not down with da gi

If you actually read the thread, you'll see that Ryan Hall shows the no gi version of this choke in the clip I posted. (Even though he's wearing a gi.)

I love this technique and I too have been using it since watching Ryan Hall do it on his arm triangle DVD set.

My issue with the specific set-up is, how to avoid having your back taken when you "feint" with the arm triangle, since you're basically giving your opponent, who has half guard, a DEEP underhook. I've tred this set-up a few times and my opponent winds up with the positional advantage, not me, because I'm not controlling them properly I guess.

Anyone run into this problem? What's the solution?
Thanks

Is he doing a nogi tech while wearing a gi? Im not down with that either... the gi hurts my eyes to look at

That's not the same one, that's basically an inverted anaconda choke, whereas the Ezekiel is an inverted brabo.

If you're talking about the near side arm triangle, I would force quarter guard first, driving the knee over into 'almost mount'. He can't take the back from there, and it makes it easier to expose his back/side for the choke.
