A. pettis look no bigger than Sergio last night in my opinion. He could easily make 145 and possibly 135.

Anyone else agree?
 
he would spice up the 145 division that's for sure.
 
Am I the only one who didn't see a size difference?

145 maybe. He is 5ft 10. Looks similar in size to Conor but with less muscle
 
Pettis is a smallish LW in today's 155 roster. 145 is definitely an option.

He was once scheduled to fight Aldo at 145lbs, and remembered he said the cut would be no problem.

he is UFC "listed" at 5'10, that means he is prob solid 5'9 at best. he doesnt look like he is a massive weight cutter to make 155.

But agreed, he is similiar size with Conor but less muscular. 145 for him should be very doable in terms of weight mgmt.
 
It's not a size problem, it's like he bought his own hype way too much and can't get his shit together since he got dismantled by RDA..

Maybe an ego problem, and a gameplan one.. No shame in losing to RDA but he should have beat Barboza and Alvarez...
 
He needs to do something different. The guy was looked at like the second coming when he won the title. Now he's on a 3 fight losing streak and hasn't looked impressive at all. I can't really see him beating any top LW at this point.

This pretty much sums it up
Pettis constantly underestimates his opponents
Guess all the cereal box fame got to his head
 
Size is not the reason why he lost to Barboza.
 
I think Pettis is a good fighter, I just think as he peaked he got matched up with favorable opponents. Now I truly believe he is where he belongs...in the middle of the pack, fighting the who's who of the division. He's certaintly talented, but that damn "Showtime" kick was the best and worst thing that could've ever happened to him. From now on, he's gonna win 2, drop 1, win 3 in a row, drop 1..ect.
 
Honestly, the competition just improved
 
No shame for Pettis, the game caught up to Pettis and the division became that much more competitive. Look at Cerrone being scared UP a division to face unranked WW's. Cerrone will probably lose to Cote and gains very little from winning. And yet this is where Cerrone is at after that last LW loss which may have shook him deeply.

Back to Pettis. The Alvarez was a close one and there is no shame in losing to one of the greatest LW's of all time period.

Everyone here is most likely right about 145 being the best move. If BJ Penn thinks he can than of course 29 year old Pettis would do even better.
