A look into the future of how Shogun vs Volkan could go down!

A haymaker can't be timed right?

Ok. An overhand right.

If you watched that gif and your first thought was "wild haymaker" then you are either biased(hating) or dont understand boxing.

The same thread again??? You did the same shit 2 days ago.

GTFO.. are you the same guy who used to do 1 Shogun thread every day? Cant remember the user but he had a shogun AV.

You keep adding stuff. Never said anything was "wild"

The punch that dropped chuck was like a petal, falling from a flower, stroking a newborn’s check. And chuck looked like he was shot.

I wil break it down for you, so you can maybe better appreciate the skill Shogun displayed

Notice how you see it start with Gus's lead hand posted on Shogun

I don't have time to rewatch the fight right now and look for that exact moment, so I don't recall if it was from a jab or lead hand probe

But he was measuring Shogun for a rear lead uppercut.

Shogun recognizes the lead hand is holding him in place for a follow up instantly (he covers up and steps back)

Gus tries to cover distance with his lead hand obstructing Shogun for the rear uppercut behind it

Shogun covers up, bounced out of Gus's range a little, plants and unloads an explosive short compact counter that interrupts Gus stepping in with his uppercut.

Such an excellent counter from Shogun

He clearly did his homework on Gus (knowing Gus leads with uppercuts and prepared to counter with over hands)

Look how devastating a counter it was. Completely stops Gus in his tracks/completely stops the motion of Gus's uppercut

This is what I was talking about in regards to the Volkan fight

1. Shogun is great at interrupting combinations with counters inbetween shots

2. Great at countering an opponent stepping in with shots as he's throwing

Regarding that counter on Gus. I think if it were current Shogun (a Shogun who Freddie Roach has taught how to punch and turn over like a boxer) then that would've put Gus down.

I doubt Volkan walks through a shot like that from even that weaker version of Shogun

Nice breakdown. I never argued against any of that tho. I apologise for my sloppy use of haymaker. It was never meant to discredit Shogun in the slightest. I should've said big shot instead, cuz it was one helluva shot at least

I apprecaite that. Much love my brother

And yes, it was a hell of a shot. Gus has a chin of pure steel
