A log by MIDMO

yes regardless of my many failures and general lack of jaktness and strengthatude, I still have wonder pics in my log.

Foz yes indeed.

I'd gladly have an orgy with all 7 of those plus size models. They easily beat out the avg woman in frisco...LOL...

whats with you and the one in red.

and he meant the 7 naked ones in one group, there was no mention of the one in red.

Well this weekend's schedule is sort of in the air at the moment. I hit my coach up for to see if theres any open mat time this weekend at the home school in KC. But at the same time my boxing coach hit me up for rounds on Saturday. May have to figure out how to do both. However I think my JJ Coach is in Europe on something this week.

So that leaves Friday which will be a day of rest. Saturday boxing/JJ. Sunday Bench depending on how I feel after boxing, with Monday being a deadlift deload of a bunch of 70%ish singles and normal assistance. I may do bench tonight if I get any sleep today though.

Got notice today that my order from APT is on its way. For the record it consisted of Blue Line Hybrid Knee wraps (2M) and thanks to the coupon code a pair of free wrist wraps(again blue line Hybrids) and I believe a pair of straps.(for some reason I can't type strap without think of lesiban porn) along with 15% off the total order.

Delivery date of the 9th.

I really don't need the straps or knee wraps right now, but figured I did need the wrist wraps and why not go head and pick up the knee wraps for when I go back to focusing on my squat.

and now back to plus sized models

I wasn't gonig to lift as my coach had told me he wanted to get some rounds in, but he hadn't called so I went ahead and headed to the gym. The orginal plan was to bench. however there was no one there to spot so I switched to overhead. Nothing hard just got some work in.

As I was getting ready to leave my phone rings so I ran home for a few minutes before heading back. Probably my best work in years. The first 3 rounds were rough as I fought inside which is a losing battle for me. About round 4 my jab came out of hiding and also grew about a foot. So for the next 5 or so rounds I beat his ass on the outside.

Keeping my coach outside takes more effort than I normally expend but today behind the jab and a stiff right it wasn't that hard. Towards the end I started to fade and we switched to kickboxing where he has a defintive advantage. I can normally find knee inside to counter his kicking advantage but today I couldn't quite lock him up in the clinch enough to land anything solid.

I'm thinking of switching my lifting schedule around a little. Instead of doing what is a spread out 4 day split I'm going to do a 2 day split of sorts. If I follow through I will do a upper body/lower body split. With day one being bench/overhead and day two being Deads/squat.

But I will alter the intensity of which lift gets priotiry with the other being lift lifts(much like I did today). I think this may work for me since I would lift two days, then be out of the gym for two then reverse teh lifts for two days then out for two again. I think it may leave some room for cardio and skill work on my weekends when I have 3 days

Nice work.

This was under-appreciated in the Pub. Hopefully it won't be here.

MIDMO - I've read numerous times that using elbow pressure on the inside of someone's legs (to break a closed guard) is a technique that only works with novice grapplers...is that true, in your opinion? Cause that shit works with me...

I roll with a big guy (6'3" - 240) who uses this as his go-to guard breaker, then he'll transition to underhooks on both my legs (his head between my legs) and a gable-grip locked over my waist...working all the while to rotate/pass to side control.

I normally don't fight to maintain a closed guard if someone is that big and wants it open that badly. :D

I'll usually open guard, situp and work a sweep or try and break their posture etc...a hip bump sweep sometimes or sitting up and attacking the elbow/wrist (by locking it into my abs) is pretty instinctual for me too, although I'm not sure it's correct.

I'd like to be able to prevent this guard break if possible...can you help me out?

Benching, then on to 13 rounds of boxing, damn. Good work.

There is nothing wrong with the one in pink, I appreciate the ever so slight underboob. but is she really plus size?

Freeman,

All models noted as plus size are plus size to the best of my knowledge.

Modena,

I figured it was something like that.

McClure,

does it work on only beginers, yes by itself it only works on beginers. HOwever when you start using the pressure to force the grounded op. to switch to hips or over committ then it tends to open some other things such as leg over the top passes.

The easiest thing to do to defend the pressure to reach cross side and cup the back of the elbow then pull forward and down. This normally will force his weight forward with it and takes the elbow off the inside of the leg. THis opens up a pretty simple arm drag sweep if you can break his posture at the same time. If you can move the arm with just one of yours, think about going two on one with a kimura grip and drive it back then pull forward again.

The most common transition out of the inside leg pressure postion is to look to push one of his elbows back opening a triangle but most people feel that coming.

What I do is look them in the face and ask "do you know any other guard passes cause that one hurts and isn't going to get you anywhere" if they don't take the hint I then bite them:)

If this makes sense to you fine, if not I can try to give you some other options just ask.

MoM,

ass that fine is always appreciated here.

GM
45 x 10

Powerclean
135 x 2 x 3

Deads
225 x 3 x 3
275 x 2
315 x 1 x 15 (1 min intervals)

Squats
135 x 5
185 x 10 x 3

Front Squats
135 x 10 x 2

Quick simple sort of dead load day, the 1 minute intervals were tougher than I thought they might be since I have never done intervals that short. But so far I feel good and am ready to get back after it next session.

I found a box 2" shorter than the one I was using and had no trouble with hitting it. Looking for 12" depth again shortly.

Thank MIDMO. I've always just opened guard and sat up to attach the wrist or elbow, or if it's someone around my size, go for a hip bump sweep. I know this sounds stupid, but honestly I thought there was something I should be doing to withstand the pain forcing open my guard. What you said makes sense, thanks.

You can just sit there and deal with the pain, I do that alot when I teach and they attempt to pass that way. Then I talk about their mother, or just stop action and show them something else.

There are alot of things you can do once you break the arm forward if you control their posture. You can cross that arm to the opostite side of your body which opens up both the hip bump and being able to roll out onto their back. You can invert to an armbar from that postion. The list just goes on from there depending on where their arm ends up.

damn dude, first bench + boxing, then a deload with GM, squat, deadlift, front squats and powercleans...your a hard working m-fer
