Opinion A girl received a Draco style firearm as a Christmas gift from her parents. Thoughts?

Dude I literally shot a draco for the first time recently.

I put the target too close, apparently, and a worker at the range came in and said I could start a fire and to back up the target.

Opps on notice. My nephew spent like 120 on ammo lol.

- I grew up watching western movies. My dad even dressed us as cowboy. But he was against using realistic weapons as toys. I never understood that till i got adult.

This is wild lmao. Inb4 someone looks at her the wrong way... or she tries to intimidate some gangs with it. If she is stupid, she will be another statistic.

There's more to do at a range than just shoot at the same static targets on a line if thats all you thought people were doing that is totally not the case. There's different classes , different drills and scenarios and shoot house set ups and different skills maybe you want to work on. Shoothouses are the best part of shooting and are an absolute blast to take part in. It's also a scene / community where you like hang out with people you have at least one thing in common with. Maybe make a friend or 2. Then there's that concept of a hobby like you know the whole do you enjoy doing the thing that you are here to do. A good one probably has a lot I'm common with a martial arts gym . You are learning self defense skills and getting a workout in too depending on what you are getting up to when you are there. Different ranges have different options. Some are just simple line shooting and some of them are full on combat shooting training and will make you into John wick if you keep showing up and doing the work

I don't know what exactly a samey hobby is but if im guessing right that's most if not all hobbies.

I dunno if it's the same as martial arts. Does it have much physical exertion?

Someone said golf which seems a solid comparison.

It really depends on the range and why and what you are there to do that day. You can spend 4 hours at the range , not fire a single shot and work up a sweat , or you can just stand there and fire down a lane or anywhere between. There's lots of classes and programs you can get into some are free some are expensive and that's where the real fun is and how you can do things besides just stand there.

Golf is a good comparison if we are talking about physical exertion. There are some things like USPSA that have stages where you are moving from target to target but nothing crazy. Some dudes will go full LARP mode with their buddies and trek into the woods to do drills and stuff which if you are lugging around all the gear that could be exhausting.

Yes, the video appears to be real and not staged or AI-generated.
  • It's a genuine user-recorded clip from Christmas (likely 2025 or 2024 reposted virally in late dec 2025)

Question for the parents would you ever get your kid a gift like this that girl looks under or around 18 idk lol

Why not? I've been shooting since I was around 12 <Fedor23>

I'm not familiar with Draco's.
Didn't even know this type of firearm was available for purchase.

What was the estimated price tag for her gat?
700-800 probably
It's cheaper to get an AR pistol and ammo is abundant.

An AR pistol w/a 7 inch barrel and a binary trigger will get you some crazy reactions at the range. I ask to be put far away from others.

The way she's handling the gun tho
