A broken hand obviously diminishes your cardio

First things first: I picked Merab to win.

But a fracture, and one as painful as a hand, affects endurance badly.
Any of you that have trained know that severe pain makes you gas.

That's because (not bro-science, nor rocket science neither):

1. Intense pain is an stressor. When you are at 90-95% of your max heart rate, adding a stressor makes you redline.

2. During strenuous effort, endorphins released go mainly to your muscles to "trick" them into keep going.
When hurt, those endorphins are almost entirely headed to i.e. his hand.

So both muscular and cardiovascular fatigue kicks much harder and earlier.

A badly broken hand is not an excuse. Shit happens. I still believe Merab would have won, but that injury left us without a great fight.

Watch Uriah Faber vs Mike Thomas Brown in a 5 round title fight where Faber broke both hands early.

See who pushes the pace.

Don't lean in on this excuse Umar fans.

Faber went 5 rounds with both hands broken and didn't slow down. Just relied on elbows and his legs.

I'm sure there are other examples.

Speaking of which, and thats a genuine question, Umar now has a metal rod in his hand. He posted it on his insta story. Could it affect the way he throws in futura fights ? is it going to make his hand more brittle or will it be business as usual ?

Pain and stress trigger the release of cortisol.

That's part of fighting.

This is not a valid excuse and Merab was also injured/not 100%.

They had a fair fight, Merab won.

He should have gone to the doctor that fixed RDA's jaw.

RDA was durable as shit after that and I think even had someone break their hand punching him in the face.

Fuck settling for merely fixing an injury, upgrade that shit. Any time an elite fighter breaks a bone they should get some titanium plated Wolverine shit

Did we get an xray of that broken hand yet? .

Also , he seemed to have been throwing said hand throughout the fight and fought off several takedowns ..sooooo how much of hindrance was it and how much pain was he in exactly lol.

Just saying your theory doesnt really hold up to what we watched...
