- A recent survey conducted by the Ronald Regan Presidential Foundation and Institute finds that 52% of Americans view China as the biggest threat to the U.S.

- This % figure is up 15% from Feb, an increase of 28% from 2019 and an increase of 21% from 2018.

- Russia was considered the next biggest threat at 14%. Iran was number # 3 with 12% followed by Afghanistan at 5%.

The survey found 52 percent of Americans view China as the biggest international threat to the U.S., up 15 percent from this past February.

The number is up more than 20 percent from 2019 and 2018, when 28 percent and 21 percent respectively saw China as the biggest threat to the U.S.

In March , Pew published this article

Roughly nine-in-ten U.S. adults (89%) consider China a competitor or enemy, rather than a partner, according to a new Pew Research Center survey.

Many also support taking a firmer approach to the bilateral relationship, whether by promoting human rights in China, getting tougher on China economically or limiting Chinese students studying abroad in the United States. More broadly, 48% think limiting China’s power and influence should be a top foreign policy priority for the U.S., up from 32% in 2018.

Today, 67% of Americans have “cold” feelings toward China on a “feeling thermometer,” giving the country a rating of less than 50 on a 0 to 100 scale. This is up from just 46% who said the same in 2018. The intensity of these negative feelings has also increased: The share who say they have “very cold” feelings toward China (0-24 on the same scale) has roughly doubled from 23% to 47%.

Edit
Iran is at 4% . North Korea is 12%. The Hill article has a typo.

Soo... Was Trump right all along about China?

lol... Ironic isn't it.

It's too bad Trump was a complete fool on Twitter at times and at press conferences. He brought on his own demise in 2020. I thought he was right on many issues, but damn... His cringe moments...

I really hope Trump doesn't run 2024

I would assume the rest are not sure or listed other countries. Russia and Iran also have double digit negative views.

Some on the Alt-Right see America as the biggest threat.

I was listening to a podcast with Milius's daughter (he directed conan and red dawn) and she works on political stuff and basically, Hillary was looking at what hurt her most before running for presidency. It was some russian thing with her....so she used that information to make the fake narrative about Trump and Russia. And see how back then Russia was considered biggest threat...

I'd take the impolite trash talker on twitter that still loves America over our leaders that sold America out to China, globalist agendas and Fauci.

China is a big threat. They have hacked American computers, stolen technology and have had spys working for politicians.

The interesting thing is people view Iran and Afghanistan as the number 3 and 4 threats to America. The Afghanistan failure and the fear mongering over Iran has made people view them as big threats.

I saw a YT video yesterday on Turkey's inflation crisis. The content creator mentioned how Pence hurt the Turkish economy when Pence demanded Turkey release the American pastor or face consequence. Biden and Kamala wouldn't say such a thing. I forgot all about Pence / Trump and the pastor incident. There were a few good things they did or said, but there were some big fcukups too. Trump's problem is his ego and narcissism, and involving Jared/Ivanka.

Turkey's inflation crisis is mostly Erdogan's low interest rates, followed by the pandemic.

I think the Hill article has a typo when they first say Iran is 12% then say later it is 4%. The graph from the Regan poll has NK at 12%.

It's sad that Iran is seen as a bigger threat than Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, but that's the power of US media propaghanda.

Well, i'm certainly not alt-right but I personally think that America is the biggest threat to America as we continue to see the government do the bidding for the few and not the many. There is a reason why people who steal money from other countries invest, come here. Too easy to be a white collar crook.

Trump's problem is his ego and narcissism.

Agreed... He does have a extra special lack of self awareness... lol.

But I did admire his ability to confront other nations head on without regards to his public image, especially China. He alway put US first... Right or Wrong.
