My Dad has had back injuries and surgeries that also likely caused him to be shorter. I've had a hip surgery and like I said in another post I don't remember what time of day I was measured when I was 5'11.5". The last time I was measured It was 4PM after a work day where I wake up at 5AM so I likely only lost like 1 inch.(you might not know this but you are about .4-.5 inches taller in the morning than you are later in the day).

I lose close to an inch throughout the day

I have been measured at 6'1 first thing in the morning and I'm usually about 6'0.5 in the afternoon and lose another quarter of inch by the evening

It's definitely normal to lose some height throughout the day and I read somewhere that most lose around 2cm like me.
