I was about to say this. Also he jumps the queue to a possible rematch with Izzy or fight with Alex. A win over Khamzat at this stage, is almost as good as a title eliminator even though he isn't even in the 185 rankings
 
Calling out a guy whos preparing to fight for the Welterweight title in 2023 July-August which is 9-10 months away.. But has another fight in between who is zoned in on this one mission is extremely weak call out...

He knows Chimaev won't abandon his welterweight belt chase down for he's irrelevant ass.. Why doesn't Costa just beat whittaker try to climb the ladder otherwise this is just desparation..... Costa should try as much as he can to regain the TS at MW and make himself relevant again because once Khamzat wins the Title in WW his gonna come for the MW champion directly.. He should attempt to put himself on Khamzat's path climb the ladder..

It is like an irrelevant bellator fighter calling out Khamzat how realistic is that fight

He is scared. If not, he would at least say something (or would have entered the cage when Costa invited him, instead of playing the "hold me back bro" move)
 
Khamzats entire image is based around this “anyone/anytime” mentality. Yet he’s very silent on a fight against Costa who’s calling him out more so then anyone has.

Costa loses to Whittiker.
Costa beats Khamzat. Khamzats smart enough to know this. Not faulting him for avoiding that fight but it’s just a bit annoying when you are out there with this “I’ll fight anyone. I’ll kill them all” type promos and yet…complete silence when Costa is calling you out constantly.

As a fight fan, Costa vs Khamzat is the text book definition of a fun fight. The build up and fight styles are just a perfect match. Dana is smart for protecting Khamzat though. He’s the money maker. Sucks as a fan….makes sense from a business point of view long term.

It is like an irrelevant Bellator fighter calling out Khamzat... What do I mean by this.. Try to understand it first before talking...... Is he in the Welterweight division or called Leon Edwards, Usman? and does he compete in the WW division... Khamzat wants to become the champion of the WW division first and then move to MW to conquer that division..

Why should Khamzat waste his time on an irrelevant opponent let him first climb the ladder it will happen down the line if he can stay relevant enough when Khamzat comes up in the MW until then he is irrelevant.. His not 1 contender in the WW or nor the champion aka meaning he is as irrelevant as it gets in this case.

He can't even fuking climb the ladder in the MW and has to wait for Khamzat to first conquer the MW and take him as an easy gimme fight for his first title defense

Your entire image is wrapped around “I’ll kill everyone”. You died making 170 last time. You create some silly scene being “held back” while Costa is training begging to get at him. Now you have Costa calling you out constantly and you’re silent on the matter.

Not necessarily faulting him for avoiding the fight and not pursuing it. Business wise it makes sense…. He’s massive for 170 and those fights are obviously safer if he can make that weight.

Let’s just not pretend like he’s so eager to step into there with Paulo.

As I told you Costa knows this is irrelevant for Chimaev now... He is ranked in the WW division and obsessively chasing that belt... His not a journey man like Costa.. He is actully FUCKING COMPETITING FOR THE WW championship try to wrap this around your head..

He can't split himself into 100 people and be at 100 different places his not a jounrey and he is here to be the best ever.. He is not wasting a training camp on a gimme fight with a guy who is about to get cut from the UFC who is 2-1 in his last 3 fights who provides nothing to him in his pursuit for an actual championship bout..

It is like some random Heavyweight Middleweight calling out Jon Jones while fighting for the title in the LHW division how RELEVANT IS THAT? or lets assume some random middle ranking LW guy calling out Sterling while Sterling is fighting for the title..
 
So the real story is Costa is ducking Whittaker. I'm not surprised.

Khamzat is the biggest up and coming name in the UFC right now.

Imagine how dumb of a promotion you’d have to be to waste a fight for the biggest potential fighter you’ve had in years against a guy who hasn’t had a notable win since 2019.

I hope none of you have jobs where you handle big decisions that involve making money.
