...How the ufc has a monopsony (because there is way too much ignorance and complacency about the subject on here) and this video not only does a good job describing what it is, it lays out the entire explanation of how the ufc is doing its fighters dirty with their contracts, policies and pay.

A true fan cares about the fighters well being, unlike the ufc and their shills.

What business is UFC fighter pay of mine? These people willingly sign contracts. If the contract is really that bad, why would you sign it? I’m a fan of the sport. I’m not their agent or their mother.
What business is it then of the people who fight for others rights, who donate to charity, who stand up for the weak, who speak out against injustice?

Its called empathy and you clearly lack it, borderline sociopathic pov you have there bro (is bones your favorite fighter btw?)

one thing is simply not caring and not participating in the adult discussion, another is to take the energy and time to take a stance against the fighters.

Who truly provides you fans with entertainment ? Its the fighters. What if you had a family member that is fighting, would you support them in that case?
Why even side with a multi billion dollar dictatorship of a company? What do you get from it?

Get your priorities straight people, it ain't hard to put yourself in the fighters shoes and understand that the system needs changing.

Fighters should get paid more and get a higher percentage of overall revenue. However, you sign a contract, it's on you. I see both sides of this argument. I side with the fighters but ultimately, I want to watch fights, talk about them and not read a million threads about the same thing. It is what it is.

TS, you need to understand that they are adult and still sign the contract.

Get over it.
Dont be so basic, change is needed and sometimes change comes from within, from disgruntled employees (who are deemed contractors in this case, but how do you explain then that they are locked up for a year after their contracts expire in some cases?) This and many more inconsistencies are what need changing , the system needs a reform and you shills and intolerant mods need to understand that this hot topic is here to stay and you cant silence or censor it. Its a shame yall call yourselves fans of mma, have been here for longer than a decade in some cases and yet Jake fuckin Paul is speaking up and doing more for the just cause than you are.

Try to work for Pepsi and go into break room and have coke..... .... co promoting specially to diff sports or rival companys is dumb if Frances was so good at boxing when he went France he wouldnt had go to mma

Of course they deserve more. But that is literally their agent’s job. It’s not my problem. And the obsession with fighter pay in here is literally the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in over two decades on the internet and reading forums for several different sports.

It’s not even as simple as just not clicking on specific threads bitching about fighter pay. It’s almost impossible to read any thread at all these days without somebody mentioning it. It’s fucking bizarre.

There are a lot worse injustices going on in the world lol

The octagon spotlight and status is what brings most of the value to the UFC.

The vast majority of fighters are easily replaceable, save for a few outliers like Conor McGregor, Jones, Khabib, Silva etc

It really doesn't matter who is there fighting, as long as the UFC keeps being regarded as the premiere fighting organization.

In fact, the UFC's revenue has just reach an ATH despite the perceived skillset of fighters being at one of its lowest points.

The UFC doesn't pay fighters more, because it doesn't need to, the competitive pressure just isn't there

I know about that but I know that if the fighters get a bigger part of the revenue, more rights,an union or the ali act passes then the sport will get worse for us fans.

The whole point of understanding the monoposony power of the UFC is that it answers this very question. People willingly sign unjust contracts because their choices are artificially limited. Their willingness to make the best of a bad situation does not negate the unjust nature of that situation.

It's not up to the fans to get fighters paid more, it's on the fighters. Its like self-accountability is bordering on extinction these days, regardless of the topic at hand.

Lol he makes 250k per fight (after all expenses) and ts is acting like Ngannou is being held hostage in a dungeon somewhere swords & sandals style forced to fight to the death once a week for $12.

Respectfully, shut the fuck up.

You wanna fight injustice? There's much worse shit going on in the world but this is the "fight" you chose. Attention seeking is what this is.

With the time & energy you've been putting into your crusade for higher fighter pay on this karate forum should have been used outside in the real world. Maybe message Fighters on social media and set up event where you go to the UFC Offices/Apex or a UFC event and hold up signs striking for your cause. Deep down inside you don't care and will willingly watch a UFC event cheering your ass off at fighters expense like the rest of us consumers of this product. A true fan indeed.

Give it a rest, it's all good and all for everyone to be aware of the shady business that the UFC does, but in the end it's the fighters decisions to sign that contract with the UFC willingly knowing what comes with the territory.
