Or will they let him go and he becomes a free agent?

Btw just curious, Is it possible the UFC can trade Ngannou? Never seen anyone talk about him being traded.

What do you think will happen UFC will give in to his demands or Ngannou will modify his demands and sign on the dotted line?

Truly cannot tell whether they’re playing hardball (and yes they will eventually sign) or totally serious (free agent).

I guess I’m 60/40 he leaves.

I’m more curious whether it goes to court or not, and if not, whether the UFC revamps their legal language yet again because of this.

They will hold Ngganou until the end of the year and let him go as late as they can. Dana is petty, he won't forgive Frank showing a spine.

Well he’s already voluntarily out 9 months, so that’s not much of a punishment….

That's true. But he probably can't start negotiating or something.

As long as they get paid I could see them signing and letting him box. I think Fury would take that fight and pull big numbers

Being a humble company man in the UFC is probably the stupidest career move an athlete can make. The select few fighters who pushed back against the establishment are the ones who were able to make live changing money. If you don’t know your own worth, the UFC will tell you your worth, and it’ll be a lot less than you deserve.

How many fucking Francis posts are we going to see everyday

give it a test

I am leaning towards things going to court.

However, I am hoping they re-sign him. He's really showing good potential in being perhaps the best HW around in MMA (if he ins't already.) I don't care about the whole money thing or boxing. Just get the man a contract.

Big Frank said it’s bigger than money. He wants to be free. He is going to move on

He will get the same treatment as Randy Couture, never having the option to leave

Yes he will stay with UFC I think, they will sort it out.

I see a lot of votes of yes but not allowed to box. That would require a substantial raise at this point. His team believe he’s going to get a huge money boxing fight. They’d have to guarantee at least $3M per fight plus points, maybe even higher points. To combat what they think he can get boxing. And then he’d still have to fight at least 2-3 times to hit that same number his team thinks he can make from one boxing match.

The problem is that he is not a draw, let alone a proven draw. So far he’s drawn well under Jones’ usual number, and he said he was making $5M.

Just let him go to free agency and move on. Because if he actually can get a boxing match for $10+M guaranteed. The UFC can’t really compete with that. Not with the numbers he draws. It’s not worth it to them.

And allowing him to box is inviting every other champion or top contender to demand the same thing. They can’t have that.

Yes. I made a thread the other day with his coach saying he expects him to resign.

They won't try to resign him before he resolves his knee situation.

And if Bellator snatches him and makes Fedor vs Ngannou the world will explode.

Have you read this?

If so, are you not buying it? And let’s be clear - this is still in the “good investigative reporting” category, not “facts”. Is someone doesn’t isn’t buying it, that’s cool.

If not, it’s a good read. I suggest you read it.

But I wish they’d sticky this article already. I predict a year of misunderstandings between those who haven’t read it and those who have…. @Substance Abuse ?

Or is there already new details out there and I’m the one outdated? Lol

The only way they keep him is if he caves. Dana will never budge, if they give in to Ngannou every single champ who's coming up on an expiring contract will think they can take the UFC to the wood shed. Horrible precedent to set from the UFC's perspective.
