The only way they keep him is if he caves. Dana will never budge, if they give in to Ngannou every single champ who's coming up on an expiring contract will think they can take the UFC to the wood shed. Horrible precedent to set from the UFC's perspective.
Generally I don’t disagree with you.

But that’s ignoring half my statement. I don’t think Ngannou and CAA are just playing hardball, but they could be. And if they are and Dana meets em halfway, this thing ends amicably.

I originally said 40% chance of this, but it’s a lot lower than that :)

I mean c’mon. Let’s talk about what we don’t know. For a year Ngannou has been hinting that he might just leave after this fight, and we all mocked him for it. It took a fucking BE reported to show us that yes, in fact, it’s quite likely he can leave in a year.

What else don’t we know? Lol

Francis is going to get the short end of the stick no matter what. Fury is already signed to fight Dillon Whyte and might face Usyk next (if he wins, if he loses there will be a rematch). Frank is unlikely getting his shot at Fury this year and he really can not afford to wait, he’s getting up there with age.

I browse boxing forums and see what those folks have to say, they literally don’t even talk about Francis, there is no hype from the boxing world. I’m afraid he may have overestimated his sphere of influence.

Ngannou cannot fight this year.

I applaud Ngannou but he's just a cog. It would be a shame if he never fights in the UFC again but the show will go on, and the UFC will only get bigger & better with or without him. The only point in Ngannou's favor is that heavyweight doesn't have a lot of talent depth and having Ngannou makes is way more interesting. But the UFC is making so much damn money i doubt Dana cares all that much. UFC has by far the stronger hand right now. The only challenge to the UFC will be from the government and the courts, i'm convinced that those two entities are the only thing that can stop Dana at this point. The fighters are too small minded and divided to organize collectively, and individually the UFC will swat them away like flies as Ngannou is about to find out.

I agree with everything here. Cheers.

But I also say there’s a chance that CAA is just negotiating hard, and that they and Endeavor Group Holdings eventually meet in the middle.
