Media Dana White Doesn't Love the $10 PPV Price Increase

I wonder if this increase is only in the US?

Can someone confirm if next week's event is showing as $75, or is the increase effective at a later date?

It's still showing as $65 in Canada.

Hoping maybe the price increase doesn't affect us above the border. After all we had to pay for UFC 267 when it was free in the US :)

Order it now and that's the price you will pay. They can't change it after it's been ordered.

Says it's an ESPN decision beyond his control

I don't know when Sherdoggers are going to understand he doesn't own the UFC and doesn't have power like they think he has. People on here think he can increase fighter pay to 50% for something that is part of a publicly traded company.

The reason why WME picked it up for 4.2 billion wasn't to pay out 50% revenues. ESPN same thing....they want $$$ hence increases.

Its like when Dana tried to have Khabib vs Tony during covid and the ESPN/Disney bosses shut him down. Again not the owner and doesn't hold the power.

Just ordered it in case, but I'd be surprised it they raise the price days before the event.

So far no one from the US has confirmed if UFC 270 is $75 for them, or is it effective from UFC 271?

I asked this question in another thread too.

I believe it's beyond his control.

I found the quote "I don't love it" funny, but there wasn't much else he could say in public.

Yeah I have no idea, but it says everywhere that ESPN is putting it in effect for 270. I highly doubt they'll raise it for you at this point. Maybe down the road.

The price increases indicate to me espn isn’t happy with the sales and looking to recoup some losses as from my understanding they are paying UFC for 500k buys every Ppv. Hopefully when the current deal expires both ESPN and UFC will finally learn the ppv model is outdated trash. 3 hours of television is not worth $75.

I think we're safe, honestly. Even the current price is lower than Americans paid prior to this recent price hike.

The $65 we currently pay is lower than the $65 USD the UFC makes per PPV down south due to the dollar difference.

I just found out in the US it was actually $70 USD for UFC 269 and prior.

I think sales numbers dropped for ESPN because viewers have to have their app to be able to order, and that's why the price increase is only on the ESPN app which we don't use in Canada anyway.

This is spot on. Sherdoggers think he has the final say in everything and overstate his power.
