You do realize if you paid for streams then fighters will have more money in their pockets AND uncle Dana will get to keep his $500 million, produce artificial snow for his kids, and go on pawn stars and drop an entire roster’s worth of salaries on dilapidated metal.

Illegal streaming has literally zero baring on a fighters base salary. A dude who makes the 10k minimum will make 10k regardless if there is 1 person or 10 million paying the PPV. 90% of the roster don't have PPV points in their contracts.

And the minimum salary has been the same for about two decades despite the UFC revenue increasing drastically since that time. 20 years ago nobody watched the UFC yet the salary structure is nearly identical. What does that tell you

Such a terrible argument. It's about getting their fair share of the revenue they generate, like other major sports.

Precisely what are you suggesting fighters/managers should do to get their "fair share"?

if they are managing to keep compensation below a threshold % of revenue, more revenue allows for higher compensation within their tolerances for profit margin.

Ah the ole trickle down economics theory, that despite getting such a small slice of the pie, everyone will get more money over time as the size of the pie increases due to pro-business policies, like forcing streamers to pay.

Doesn't work. The revenue split has to change. Fighters need their fair share.

Put together better cards and less people would stream them. A lot of people will pay for the big cards and stream the rest.

Also the fighters know what they are going to make. They choose to do it in hopes of becoming a star. If they cannot perform well enough they will not get paid the big bucks.

If fighters don't like the pay...they don't have to sign contracts with the UFC. They can shop themselves out somewhere else (or negotiate better). It's that simple.

The fundamental mistake people make is the idea that this is just about looking out for the fighters, in reality its about the quality of fighters in the sport, the UFC paying out so little are retarding the growth of the sport.
