That time Mike Tyson gave Francis some very harsh advice

Do you think Francis was offended at all? His reaction seemed like he was like "Wow did he really just say that?". From what I understand Africans use different vocabulary than black Americans, so Mike probably was unaware of how offensive that word would be to a man from Africa like Francis.

I don't really see how the term would be more offensive to Africans as they either don't use it at all or use it colloquially as "bro" like black people in the US do lol

Im not much on the "everyone tryin' to keep the black man down" mentality, but I have really grown to respect Tyson over the years. He wasn't a very good guy in his younger years but from what I've heard he has really grown into a good dude. Good advice here from Tyson, IMO.

The only thing I disagree on is voicing your confidence. If you are confident you are just that. No need to let anyone know about it. So I disagree with Tyson when he said you gotta let that inner confidence shine.

Tyson probably one of the only guys who could say that to Ngannou's face lol

I remember watching that when it first came out, and Tyson gave Francis some really good advice. And Francis was totally star struck just being in the same room with mike and talking with him. Francis was like a kid meeting he's superhero irl. <GinJuice>

"go home with the guy who brought you to the dance" and something about fucking a dude is good advice? Lol ok

Tyson thinks he's an expert on everything........and he isn't.....I think he's a bit detached from reality and from what normies go thru.

All thru out this podcast, he gave his warped American perspective from a guy who turned into a millionaire when he was 18.

Francis Ngannou was a true poor guy, he came from real poverty in a third world nation, he wasn't privileged to have a boxing genius training him since he was a teen , and was a normie until his late 20s when he became a fighter.......Francis Ngannou's path is way different and I'm glad he pushed back against tyson's delusions(Schaub/Tyson podcast)

Hopefully Francis keeps going strong and pushes back against Dana/UFC.

Honestly, I don't 100% agree with Tyson here. It was an exaggeration to say "all good advice" (nor did I watch over an hour, but just a couple minutes from the timestamp)... but I think it was generally good advice. I probably agree with you. I have no problem with voicing confidence, the problem is that many people lump arrogance/ego with confidence.

Francis seemed not to understand what being called a "dumb black man from Africa and you're a monkey". Seemed confused when Mike Tyson said that, I don't think Africans have the same experience as African Americans. Ngannou probably just loves the fact he's in the big leagues and loves life rather than focus on negativities like Tyson. Ngannou's struggles weren't racial, but socioeconomical in Africa/Paris.

Yea and I think Tyson just doesn't recognize that they are two very different people. Mike Tyson is a guy who when younger had a lot of self confidence issues (used to cry before amateur fights). He needed a man like Cus to build up his ego in order for him to perform at his best. Francis doesn't have that same lack of self confidence. Francis main problem is actually that he was over confident, he needed Stipe to humble him a bit in order for him to reach his potential. The last thing Francis needs is to get arrogant again and start believing he's god's biggest gift to earth

Francis almost went into hulk smash mode when tyson said 'they want people to believe you're a dumb n>g#@ from Africa' but stayed on 'nice Francis' mode lol
