Media Free Fight: Islam Makhachev vs Arman Tsarukyan (one of the best grappling heavy matches ever)

Arman is probably the best wrestler at his gym and isn't used to losing wrestling exchanges.

Because his inexperience showed. He was winning the stand up ,and losing the wrestling (despite it being close) yet he was the one initiating grappling.
 
I'm surprised UFC released this as their free fight

It's makes the "next Khabib" hype job look very mortal in the grappling department
 
If arman kept this at kickboxing range it could have been his fight.

I know Arman is a very good grappler. You know Arman is a very good grappler. The people ESPN and UFC are advertising to that Islam could beat Khabib in the gym..... do not

And this does not look like someone who got the better of Khabib at times on the mat

It was a short notice fight and I don't think Islam knew what he was in for tbh

My comment was purely on the marketing decision to release this fight, out of all the ones on Islam's record, to be the youtube free fight for this event

Why not release his Dober fight?

Islam and Khabib have known each other since they were kids, even Khabib said the reason why Islam gives him trouble at the gym is because he knows his every moves. Which is pretty logical. I don't see Arman and Khabib should be compared just because Islam didnt demolish Arman.
 
Such a great fight, one of the very rare grappling heavy matchup that I really enjoyed. Is this the highest level fight between 2 unranked fighters?

they're both good grapplers having a hard time getting each other on the mat and gaining the advantage. Good grapplers? Yes. Evenly matched? Sure, makachev having the slight technical and conditioning advantage. GOAT grappling match candidate? <36>

Nobody said it was The best grappling match. One of the best, amongst others.

I'll take the Gillespie vs CDF wrestling/grappling/scrambling any day of the week over this snoozefest
