Keep in mind that real fights don't last fifteen minutes. You would be hard pressed to find one that goes one full minute.
Knowing ahead of time you only have five minutes will change a lot. Strategies will be different. Many will assume a wrestler will take an opponent down and hump them for the win. Sure that may happen. But if you know going into a fight that you only have five minutes against a wrestler, TDD and Derrick Lewis "just get up" techniques will become high priorities in training.
Cardio won't be as big an issue.
Fighters will be going for the win immediately. The feeling out process may be thirty seconds max. You cant take a round off if you only have one round.
Fighters may compete 15 to 20 times a year if not more.
There are tons of first round finishes now thus one should not expect a decrease.
This should not be standardized across the sport but I would like to see an org that only has one round fights.
