It's off a kick so it isn't really a trip, it is a knockdown off a kick but wouldn't be scored a knockdown in striking sports. So I guess it's a mix between a kick/trip. Kick has to be strong enough to kick their base out compared to a trip where you force their weight to go over your leg.Or something else?

I feel you on that, but for some reason that's not how they judge/score it. In kickboxing/muay thai they don't count it as a knockdown. They just restart it and stand you up.Why?
