Striking aside, how good is his jujitsu skills. I know John was the first Irish BJJ black belt and so I assume he is probably Conors original BJJ mentor. But aside from that, has he competed in grappling matches? Did he have a pure wrestling/judo/sambo/submission coach outside of BJJ?

Conrad’s BJJ brown belt is equivalent to Rashad Evans’ black belt...it’s just handed to them

Conrad is at most a purple belt on the mat

Does he only do escapes or does he drill submissions as part of his offense?

Who knows how much conor actually trains. If he has been training his grappling non stop since the khabib fight i imagine by now hes pretty solid on the ground.

Ive been somewhat impressed by what little ive seen. If it was a big hole in his game it would have been exploited more. A submission loss to Khabib in the 4th is not all too bad considering more credentialed grapplers like Dustin and Justin only made it to rounds 3 and 2. Besides that fight he hasnt been exposed too bad (i dont count his exhausted panic wrestling against Nate where he was looking for a way out).

I give it a 7/10. Good, not elite.

Did you even bother looking? Conor competed in grappling tournaments before he got so famous.

Yep, I didn't look. I'm not sure what year this is from. I'm sure Conor fans would say he's gotten better since this. Conor haters will say he sucks. To me, he looks competent in the video, but nothing that really stands out. He's just kind of surviving, around blue belt level. He could have gotten better since then. I don't know.

Connor's grappling and ground work is still shit even if trains another decade in it. He has to untrain everthing he knows and start over. You can't teach a "tournament level" bjj or grappling at this time.

He’s a brown belt but we haven’t ever seen him really grapple in the UFC, Khabib doesn’t count because he’s tapped black belts faster than he did McGregor (a-la Dustin Poitier)

The one and only.

Respect!

What does he have to unlearn?

What did he pick up that was bad habit?
